I am going for a semi scrappy controlled

I scared them and croped them so to get all the white I had to crop some of the fabric but they are the right size and even the picture lies

Well, I tried machine piecing, that didn't work so well. So, I'm hand piecing. The first block took three tries. The second came out pretty well with only one try. So, I'm no longer feeling nauseous or anxious. Well, not tonight. Tomorrow is another day and I see that basket block coming! UGHHHH

LOL I never would have even attempted this without this group. Thanks to all for your responses to my questions and the support and gentle guidance you offer.

Since there aren't any deadlines....hold off on the basket until later when you are feeling more confident. You can always substitute another block (even if it is out of sequence)...this is not a race or a contest...it is a learning experience for all of us. I have never appliqued anything so I can relate to the "basket anxiety"....but there are many more experienced quilters on this project to share the knowledge and support that we need.

    Your blocks are lovely.

Thank you Tammy. They actually look better in person. I wish I knew how to scan them, they look distorted in the pictures. Maybe I should have stood on a chair :) I figure my sewing will get better with practice.

Thank you Darcene. I may skip that one for awhile. Or try it and it I can't get it to line up, put it away for awhile. I don't have any plans to throw it at the wall.

I have been known to toss them for the cats to chase.....I like to think of them as "multi-purpose" quilt blocks.....the cats love to bat them across the wood floors and make quite a game of it.

I will be redoing them at one point because I've changed my color scheme
    Those fabrics look awfully familiar...
