Yep I did and it has a lot of stretch to it. I am just not good at it

Hi I found that the handle was too long. try cutting off just an inch and see if it will fit better.

Isn't there a template of the handle that you can draw on your block so you know where the lines are to sew it to? I think you need to ease a little more gently? sew one side at a time, not half at a time maybe?

    For block 3 handle
What I did was print out the template of the machine applique handle, tape it to the window. place my block over the paper and trace the placement of the handle onto my block with a lead pencil. Mark just dark enough to see. That gave me stitching lines to follow. I did carefully press under one seam allowance for the outside edge, sewed it on first then did a needle turn for the inside. I undid a few stitched in the seam so I could tuck in the ends. When done, I dampened it with starch water, and kind of massaged it flat before pressing. If your background fabric is too dark to see through, just cut out the template to trace. Good luck.

Thank you everyone for the tips. I think I will try it again when we come up on our next basket handle. I am sure all of this is going to help

Here's my blocks 3&4. I'm paper piecing my blocks.

School started 2 weeks ago and I haven't quilted a stitch. I'm trying to catch up this weekend!
