It's amazing how the different color combinations realy change the look of the block. They are all done well.

Wow, I am a newbie and so inspired by all the blocks shown, each with a different color scheme and yet each individually is just awesome, congrats to all of you.

I know I am totally behind, but I promise I plan on catching up fast. Today I finished up three blocks and cut out the next four. Here is my 7 and 8 blocks:

Very pretty. I thought #7 was hard-never did get the flower part of that block right. Oh well, there's so many blocks one (or two)goofs won't be obvious. Love the fabric in block 8.

The flower wasn't too hard but I just learned how to paper piece and got the pattern from the yahoo site which made it much easier.

Congratulations, brookemarie in picking up this project again. Your blocks look great! Don't worry about being behind. I think there are only a few who've stayed on schedule and many of us who've become stragglers. I've completed through #35, but I don't think I've posted pix of my last 10 or so. Once I meet a few deadlines next week, I'm hoping to really get to work on these. Just seems like so many other projects keep taking priority.

I don't know what I did wrong on Block 7. I used the templates and I know I did an accurate job. But when I was finished, the block was more like 7 inches square, rather than 6 1/2 inches. When I trimmed it to 6 1/2 - to match all the other blocks I have completed - my points all come right to the edge of the block. Basically, I sliced off that 1/4" seam allowance. But I felt I didn't have any choice, otherwise the block would have been too big.

It was such a nightmare to cut and piece, I hate the idea of doing it over. Especially since I can see myself making the very same mistake!

Does anyone have any idea what I could have done wrong?

It's so much fun to come here and post my blocks ... and take a look at everyone else's from before.

Nice twist there that some have done with the dual colour in the top part. I'll call that the bud. So many different twists that we can all do to make each unique.

Some repeats on my fabrics ... and some new ones added in. Most of the colours don't look at all anywhere near the true colours!

I'm impressed with so many of your pics ... the quality is incredible and I suspect the colours are very close to true, as well. I think they are done with a scanner? Do you suppose I could use that as justification as to why I MUST purchase one? :)

Drumroll here ..... I now have 25 blocks done!!!! Scattered all over the place as far as the numerical sequence. They're starting to put on quite a show on my design wall. Good inspiration to keep me motivated! However, I really do need to be doing other things, other than just FWS!!
