Thanks, Jan. I did not find the Birds that difficult to paper piece. It just took a long time because there were so many small pieces and seams. These are just so much fun! Now my primary machine is set up to work on FMQ a quilt I made for a friend, so have put the FWS on hold for a few days. I will be back soon!

Like Anne, I don't take off the paper until I'm ready to sew it. Someone showed me a cool way to take off the paper a couple of years ago, so here's an alternate way to painting yourself with rubber cement. :-) You can buy this little tool called The Purple Thang (gotta say it with a hillbilly accent, I think!). You use this to rub on the seams of the paper and it makes the paper come off easily. I think it's the technique of folding paper back and forth to be able to tear it. Maybe you don't even need the Thang and can find something that will do the same trick.
I don't take off the paper until I'm ready to do the sashing or whatever the block will be connected to. I do them in a bunch watching tv. I place a piece of cloth over my lap and with the help of my seam ripper I pick the difficult pieces out. . .when I get up from sitting they fall all over the floor, sofa and alot sticks to me....then I just vacuum it up. In my younger days I would peel the wet labels from beer bottles and peel apart the coasters. In art class we used to paint our hands with the rubber cement..let it dry ..then rub it off. I know it's weird but that's me...so you can say I really don't mind the mess.

Nicky, what great blocks. The colors are wonderful. I add my congratulation on the birds block. I PP also, but just couldn't get it right.
I have a lot of difficulty with PP at times, because my brain doesn't thing backwards, upside down, and inside out. My biggest problem is with isosceles triangles (I think I remember that from high school geometry, many decades ago). Anyway, any triangle that's not a right triangle. I just can't get how to put it backwards or whatever and have to pin and re-pin dozens of times.
The result is figuring out my (now) biggest tip on PP. If you're unsure of whether your piece is going to fit, cover the whole amount, etc. BASTE! I now will do a seam at 3.0 to check. If it's wrong it's easier to take out and re-pin.

Thanks Nicky. Here´s link to all the photo pages of the FW. I found it this afternoon http://www.quiltingboard.com/blogs/f...res-b1689.html
Oksewglad, thank you! I realized I use this combination quite a lot. Maybe I should look for another combination I like as well. I know here are but somehow I often end up with this one in different shades!

Nothing wrong with continuing to use a colour combo that works!
A beautfiul pair Anael ... maybe this one will become a showcase of florals.
These and your first two, look so fresh and crisp to me, because of the white ... I don't use a lot of white, and you are convincing me that I should!
