Thanks for the kind words on my flying pig block. I really can't wait to finnish this set of BOM! That fabric made me laugh when I saw it and the blocks are doing the same!

That is going to be one adorable quilt when you're done.

FloralFab - Your star looks like it is shooting right out of the sky. Very pretty.

Here's a pretty good tutorial, EXCEPT - in her first instruction it looks like she cuts off the seam allowance - DON'T DO THAT. But the rest of her instructions are good. On this star Jerrie has given you the sizes to cut the fabrics. Some people have said they were a little scant, so you might want to cut your fabric just a tad bigger. I didn't have any problem with them myself, although as I mentioned in an earlier post, you have to be careful about aligning the very last piece to make sure it's high enough into the corner.

Try the freezer paper method. I like it a lot (seeing as how paperpiecing is my favorite thing to do, this has helped a lot since I don't have to remove paper.

Good luck. Hopefully we'll see your star soon.

Learning to paper piece has gotten me through many a snowy day. I agree, a challenge is a good thing.

Here's my February star. It's technically imperfect so I'm off to do a second to see if I can improve. And, yes, the solid center star is deliberate. Star #2 will have the parti-colored pieces.
