Good day everyone, I got side tracked and a little behind. I’m trying to decide which way to sew the center. How easy was the piecing method. I prefer that method. Just wanting thoughts.

Midwestmom your center is very pretty. I have a sister who would love your project.

JeanieG, I like your center. My vote leave as is.

happylab - I looked at both ways of doing the center. I found that the shape of all those pieces, if doing it by the piecing method would be very difficult, so I opted to go with the paper piecing. The paper piecing went easily, and went together without problems. I have never been a fan of paper piecing like a lot of others. Once I reacquainted myself with the process and watched the video I listed above again, I was able to get this finished. I plan to do most of the blocks by the piecing method.

Jeanie and Midwestmom both of your centers look great!

I haven't done any sewing in about 2 weeks now. Just went to an orthopedic surgeon yesterday. I have a more restrictive brace I have to wear as close to 24/7 that I can for the next 3 weeks, then go in for another appt. I can only sew little bits at a time so not sure I'll keep caught up, but will definitely post Mondays with block numbers for the week.

Who is ready to start Blocks #117 & #112 next week??

Gee Carrie, so sorry you are having all the problems! I have had problems with my hands in the past, due to my arthritis. My right hand would not close but half way. A great hand therapist here in town fixed my problem in about six weeks. It has been good for two years now, Thank God!! Such a pain to have something wrong with you. Hopefully you will have this resolved in the near future.

I have all the flying geese finished and one set sewn on, so I will be ready to start next week. I think I will get the patterns printed and look at fabrics.

I finished the center for this quilt, and will start the two blocks for this week. Here is a photo I took of the center. It is going to be a really big quilt!

    Jeanie--! That looks great!

I have fabrics picked for my flying geese and it is patiently waiting for me to cut...I find I can sew a little as long as I don't have to pin much, but cutting hurts so I can't do that right now.

Thanks Carrie and Caley! It took me the whole month to get this far! LOL I did not spend all my time on this though, I have another project going on as well.

Wow, I love that center, JeanieG. Thought I had commented on it, then I could not fing it. If I am wrong, its not the first time,so I will not worry about it, but I did want to make sure you knew how well I like it. If you got all that done in a month, that is a major thing to have done that well. Love the colors you used.

QNS - You did comment on it! I posted it on our Pony Club Discussion Thread!! LOL - I do the same thing. It is a sign of our age I think, as you and I are the same age!
