Great Lesson Oksewglad and Quilt E. Very interisting, thanks
I think the process here is similar.

Here's a little tidbit for you ArteEC ... the Jerseys were very popular with the Brazilian buyers when they came North; and we often sold to them.

    Why?
Because of their colour ... you see because they are brown, they do better in the hot sun! Less affect to their milk production when it's hot hot hot!

We saw this in our herd, summer and winter!
.... In the summer the Jerseys didn't mind sauntering around in the sun, happily munching on any blade of grass that might be available in our zero graze field. The Holsteins would find the nearest tree for shade and stay right by the water trough. Milk production would be more apt to drop for the Holsteins, while the Jerseys would keep to their norms in the hot and humid weather.

In winter we'd let our cows out into the yard most days (except for extremely harsh weather) for a couple of hours for exercise while we cleaned the stables and did other barn chores. Once we opened the door ... the Jerseys would waste no time coming back into the shelter of the barn!! With their considerably smaller body mass, they sure felt the cold! (Jerseys 900-1200 lbs; Holsteins 1500-1900 lbs)

Those little hearts remind me of cinnamon hearts and contrasted with the white it's a sweet block, Honchey.
