Hi ladies,
I've not been in on this quilt-a-long as I just recently got brave enough to pull my FW 1930's book off the shelf and start on the quilt.
I've been looking through it, and doing ye olde Google search, but was hoping I could get some input, please.
I read where there are 3 ways to do each block, template, rotary cut, pp. I'd like to do the paper piecing because many of the blocks look like that will be the best way to get the points to line up. But as I look through the book, all I see are the templates. I haven't loaded the CD in my laptop yet, as my laptop is on it's last legs. Are the pp patterns on the CD maybe?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,
Kif

Yes, Kiffie2413, the pp is on the CD, along with templates, etc. So you can place it on the computer, print them all out and save the CD in a save place to reload later if you computer fails or dies in the middle of the journey. Much better than her earlier books. and CDs. You are welcome to join us, Love Honchey's leadership. This time, she starts the thread for the new weekly blocks to post on Tuesdays. You could start where we are now and work back to the first one on page 160, going by ABC order.

Thank you, QuiltingNinaSue! I got to thinking I bet the pp and the rotary directions are on the CD.
Luckily my son does IT for a living. If my laptop dies completely, I'll pull the "Your old-ish Momma needs help, dear son" card. Lol

K

Kiffie2413, The CD is very nifty. If you put it in your CD drive, and you have access to a printer, then you can print the pattern you want to use. If you don't have enough hard drive space on your lap top, or if it's working slowly, you don't have to download the files to your computer, which could make it work even slower. If you can read a CD with your laptop, then you can use the files one at a time from the CD if you want. But it's handy to put all the files directly on your computer, because then you don't have to physically use the CD every time you are ready to print a new pattern.

Thanks givio!
My laptop actually booted up ok (hold breath) and I printed off the 1st five pp patterns. And blocks 41, 42, 43, 44 to maybe try and join in here.
I have a sampler quilt that I've needed to get quilted for 2 years. I'm trying the quilt as you go method on it. Then I'm planning to start on my FW 1930's.
I'll definitely be watching and oohing and aahhing over all of the blocks that will be posted.
Regards,
Kif

Hurrah, Kiffie! I'm glad you got it to work. I hope you find time in your schedule to join in at the point where we are now. Two blocks doesn't seem like a lot to do, but it's surprising how time consuming they can be.

Sometimes agonizing over which fabrics to use takes up so much time...IMHO
Will be waiting to see what fabrics you choose for your blocks, Kiffie
