Very nice blocks. Love the bright colors in the first one and you used your striped fabric so well in the second one. I avoid directional fabric as much as possible--great job!

And so your journey begins, Susan....

Jan...directional fabric? Don't know which way you're going?

JanRN I didn't think about how bright the first block was when I did the second one. I just picked out fabrics on the second one, and thought well they look nice together. lol... I guess maybe I should have thought of an over all theme of colors throughout. (need input on that one) The first one reminded me of spring with lots of sun, and the second one I want to call "back roads." Me and my family would always go riding around the back roads, and looking at all the wild rose bushes and other flowers.

Oksewglad, yes I am now on this wonderful journey.

Ok everyone. I have a real blooper I did, and it's a silly one at that. lol... I was so determined to just get my blocks put together correctly, and all that rang out in my ear was "these are 6" blocks." So, I was reading a bit ago on some of the first blocks when this quilt a long began. Anyway to make this sad story short. My blocks finished at about 6 1/2", and I went and trimmed them down to the 6". Yeah, that is so sad. I wasn't thinking about the 6" being the finished in the quilt size. I have made many 12 1/2" blocks so I should have not done this, but I did. I guess I will be making my first two blocks over again. lol... I would rather it be that though instead of getting lost in the pp part. I will be finding some more fabric to go together for these two. They may will probably be different colors. lol...

When does the new week begin for the next blocks?

Don't feel too bad Susan, I have trimmed off the seam allowance many a time by mistake.
