I am late, but done with these two: Mrs. Smith was easy for me because I have made a quilt from the original block 'Blackbeard's block' with birthstones int he center for my nephew. Unfortunately he and his wife divorced and went their separate ways before I could gift them the quilt, so I ripped it apart by blocks. Mrs. Morgan made me think of the Morgan Horse that was developed in the USA as an all around horse for family or work. A very gentle horse for the early settlers.

Very pretty blocks, QNS... I just love your color schemes. Esp. the blue/purple one. I just love that block.

So sad about the nephew's quilt. You had already put a lot of thought and effort into it when you decided to rip it apart. Hope you found something good to do with the blocks.

Thanks for the reminder about the Morgan horse too. We looked into those way back when we were looking at buying a horse for our kids. No one in our area has them, tho.

I love all the farm/animal/homemaking tidbits you ladies share. It makes me feel like I'm amidst the women in our FW books! I'm so happy I stumbled upon this gem of a group.

Here is my Mrs. Smith that I had not posted. She will be having some alterations with the uneven seem meeting on that left side of the star. Now I have no idea how I got those star sections in the two different colors instead of all the dark color, but after I started looking at the two sides, I decided it was ok. lol....Actually many of my little pieces turned out different colors than where they were to be. I know I was very distracted. I am naming this block 'Distraction Blues'.

Ladies, I have been enjoying all your works. It still amazes me how different the look with different color choices. I had to look long and hard between QNS and Pam's block to make sure they were the same pattern. Keep up all the great work. It will be fun to see all the blocks together

lol Junebillie, I have to write on the top of each section which color it is to be. I don't have the patience to color them in and since each block is only 2 or 3 colors I can keep up with them. Your block is fine and could look like it was supposed to be that way.
