Hi Everyone, I think I've finally (almost) caught up. Just when I thought I had, I read a posting this evening that said we are on Blocks 17 & 18 this week. By my count I thought we were on 15 & 16 and they'd be due on the 5th. Whatever - I'll get there. Life has been hectic and I've woefully been playing "catch up" from the very beginning of this project. I couldn't rest until I had ALL my fabrics for ALL the blocks chosen, purchased washed and folded (and a good bit of them cut...not as many as I'd like cut but at least a month ahead). Now I just have to figure out what blocks I'm supposed to be working on. I haven't even had ANY time to read anything on the board since maybe August 10th or so. So tonight I hope to post all my blocks that I've done to date (and I guess I should repeat this message with each week's photo?) Hopefully I can stay with the group & ask questions of the group instead of pulling my own hair out. I am paper piecing and so far I've enjoyed this, even the frustrations that I have caused myself. I'm pretty sure I can be counted as a "convert" to paper piecing. Can't wait until I find time to look at everyone's posted blocks. Cathy in Baltimore County MD

your blocks look wonderful, I wouldn't worry about "catching up" we're really each working at our own pace.
The two blocks you are showing here are actually the last I've been able to complete thus far. My sil invited me to come out this afternoon to sew for a couple hours. I think I'm going to take my fabrics and just cut several blocks. I know once I get them cut it will be easier for me to complete them.

Here is my block 5. I am planning on cutting the next couple of blocks tonight so that hopefully I can sew them together when the little one is taking her morning nap tomorrow. I think I am going to start machine piecing because I am so slow and if I don't start catching up then I will probably get discouraged and quit. I might do some hand piecing again once I catch up, but not at the moment.

Forgot to add the picture... Duh

Here are 5 and 6 - You may notice that my pinwheel is going in the wrong direction on #6 - I decided not to redo it.

Welcome to the group Makklynn! I'm checking out your photos on each thread - lovely blocks. I really like your batik in #5 . . . very pretty. My #6 also goes backward. But nobody's going to notice a detail like that. :-D No off to see more of your pictures!

Good job Brooke-aren't these blocks fun? I found them addicting. I say "oh I'll make one or two today" and I'd end up sewing all day and make 3 or 4.
