here in my material for now. not sure this is the right place to post this picture. Please let me know. I am not crazy about the material so most likely it will change.
That's going to make for one cute girlie-girl quilt!
And the chocolate brown not only goes nicely with it, but is so "in" right now!

Quilte thanks for the encouragement. I don't ever feel comfortable with my choice of colors. Of the quilts that I have made, the ones I like most are the ones that I purchased as kits where the fabric is pre-selected. I made a quilt for my son and I tried many color combinations. He finally told me that he wanted navy blue and black. I thought what a strange color combination, but I went along with it. It was one of my best quilts. It suited him and he loved it. Bear paw was the block I used and I attached all of his boy scout badges. Most of all I liked the feel of the hand dyed material.

    Here are my 2 blocks:

As I was afraid about all those Y seams I decided to English Paper Piecing A Beauty. It was a challenge and my very first attempt to EPP.
I'm happy with the result but... I need to redo the botton right triangle.
Next time I will try the Freezer Paper method.
    Thanks for looking.

Leba ... Join the crowd!! I'm not colour/fabric choice confident ... though I am getting better! FWS has taught me a lot ... though I know I have a long way to go. At least I can say I feel like I'm getting better. So jump in and as you go along the PC trail, keep asking yourself, what do I like ... what could I do next block to make it even better. You'll have some favourites, and you'll have some Oh My, what was I thinking! They're just part of the experience!!! .... and those ones you think are horrors, will surprise you how lovely they look when mixed in with the whole bunch.

ARteEC ... ooooohhh sew lovely!! I really like the vibrance contrasted with the subtleness of the two blocks. And look forward to when you mix and match the two in another block!

Lovely blocks! I really like your fabric choices! I believe this BOW is going to make us all better quilters! New (to us) blocks, & different techniques. Fun!

Oh such pretty additions, the pinks/browns are spot on. I wonder, Leba, whether you might want to add another light neutral on the order of that pretty fabric with the swirls to balance your color selection. Check your stash there might be something that works perfectly.
    AeC--as QE said great contrast!
Only week 1 and many are starting to learn new techniques, way to go. dublb, since starting the FWS I know I am a better piecer, too.
Two more days and two more blocks--I'm almost as excited as you folks who are doing all the sewing!!

Yes, with the 6" blocks, the squares and triangles were very tiny!

Arte I love your colors and your technique. Your points are sharp and crisp. Definitely a goal for me to strive for. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of your blocks in the upcoming weeks.

Bev I agree with you. I thought more of neutral color was needed to balance the bright pinks. I was thinking of adding more of the same neutral swirls but your idea of looking in my stash is a good one. I dont think I have anything that will match but last night I was looking through my collection and I was surprized by all the fabric that I forgot about. I brought 2 baskets of scraps upstairs from the basement. I will have to go treasure hunting. Thanks for the suggestion.
