I've used Press & seal w/good results also.

We arrived in Phoenix yesterday, so won't be able to take a photo of the back until I get home. Will do that for you! Will probably be a little over a week. Seven month old grandson is at such a cute age! There are also two granddaughters ages 5 and 7.

Default what I did this weekend

I didn't have much time to sew this week....just got one block done, but was able to get lots of papers cut and fabric for a few more blocks.

Yesterday I has a sewing day with some ladies at a restaurant in a nearby small town...the owner is a quilter so it works out well. I think there were 16 of us there! Some of us learned how to make chenille potholders. I haven't washed them yet so they aren't quite as "shaggy" as they will be after washing, but I thought I would share.

The other thing I did was one of the March BOM from the free Craftsy BOM class...I am doing this with 3 friends (we all have different fabrics). We got together in Feb and did Jan/Feb blocks. The potholder took us longer than we thought so didn't get the Mar/Apr done as planned...oh well we had fun. I can take pics of the other blocks too if anyone wants to see them.

Hope all have had a great weekend.

Carrie, Those are darlin'. I'd love ta see the other blocks. A question. Did ya use any batting for the potholders, or is the chenille enough?

Bev--for the potholders we used insul-brite batting, 4 layers of flannel on the top and then one on the bottom. The lady who taught us said if you were to do chenille on the top and bottom you wouldn't need batting. Carrie

    Default craftsy BOM Jan/Feb blocks

Each month there is a new technique and two ways to do it. These colors (black with all the bright colors) are not normally something I would choose, but thought I would go out of the box since I had no idea what the finished quilt would look like anyways. The solids are all "bright suedes" by P&B Textiles. These are my new favorite blenders.

I haven't squared any of these up yet...I wanted to wait until all the blocks are done in case something ends up being smaller than the other.

I love your color choices, carriem. Indeed, very bright, but very pretty. Enough to brighten up any new day.
