Bummer on all those who are affected by allergies both human and dog.

Today was judging at the county fair. Each of the kids decided to just take one thing...oldest took a drawing she did in art class, 2nd took one of his advanced paint-by-number pictures, and youngest (10yrs) took her quilt. I think I posted the picture before but here it is again.

The older 2 got blue ribbons and Phoebe got an "outstanding" (big pink) ribbon...the judge told her if she was a year older she would have been considered for state...have to have finished 5th grade to go to state. I am very happy for them all.

Now off to work on my borders some more before my husband gets home from work.

thanks for the concern!!! WE NEED IT. I was out of town today and got a call from DH son that there is ANOTHER fire not to far from our house.... this evening I come home to find that it is less that 2 miles from our place!!! in only 6 hours it has consumed over 17,000 acres. as of right now it is moving away from us... but you just never know with these things.

for ALL souls involved ~~~prayers welcome~~~

DD, its scary being in the fire area. Kenai, Alaska had a fire going when our oldest daughter was born and the smoke was just sitting there...not moving out at all. Dh opted an early out of AF by three weeks so we could get state side out of the smoke.

Dh sister is in the Black Forest and we talked with her last night and she does have plans to move her horses and her if the fire comes her way. May it rain a heavy rain with no wind and put the fire out.

Stay safe...materialistic things can be replaced, but keep thy self and family safe. Have a plan NOW.

CarrieM, your children are as talented as you; great wins for everyone. Congrats!!

Oh your daughter is darling Carrie. Love her quilt - she really did a great job!

Deranged - prayers coming your way (and for everyone in the fire zone). I cannot believe the fires ranging, it is awful!
