I'll share!!!! I don't get ta do sugar anymore so these virtual marshmallows are great!
I've cut out my pieces for Best Of All. Now ta cut out Best Friend.

PS. That soup sounds good! You'd think I hadn't eaten. Well I did. DH made Chicken Fried Steak, Green Beans & Asparagus. (The Asparagus was just for me!) Then I had some pecans later for a snack.

This is so funny to read, I will be away for a few days (hopefully) our wet season has finally started, 3 inches of rain today and only a couple of miles down the highway we have a bridge that floods every year. Last year the highway was closed 5 times in 3 weeks. There was an amber alert today to proceed with caution so I am leaving early in the morning to visit with my DD for a few days.
I ordered my sashing fabric. I went with a medium blue for the sashing, light blue with tiny stars for the cornerstones and the dark blue border print all from American Banner Rose fabric line.
Might try and get on my DD's computer tomorrow night and see what's happening around the camp fire, don't want to miss anything, especially the marshmallows lol

It's sooooooo cold here, 21F actually but with the wind it feels like 8 and I have to run some errands this afternoon. Don't want to think of tonight as I have to attend a meeting
So I'm sitting very close to the fire having hot chocolate without marshmallows!

I just looked at all my scans in their folder and couldn't help noticing the strong diagonal lines so many of them exhibit, even the Alabama made up entirely of squares. Wonder if this is a trend that will continue?

I went & looked through them all & yes most of 'em have very strong diagonal lines! Although some of 'em have a softer look. Good eye OK!

HeeHaw, cowgirls & cowboys...what's on for supper?? Beans, morning, noon and night. Its rare for the working cowperson to eat lunch, 'cause they are busy working.

So happy its modern days on the farm or ranch, so we can enjoy our meals and try new recipes with no beans. Our daughter ate black beans 3 meals each day she was on a school trip to Mexico for 10 days; never has touched one since.
PM me QuiltE with your email and I will send you the mouth-watering minestrone recipe that will freeze or store in the refrigerator for a week. You can publish it here if you want too. My dh demands my chili soup on winter days. But with the temps running in the 50s and up to 70s, its fried chicken time. Diped in buttermilk and flour, then fried. Biscuits and gravy to go with that chicken. For breakfast, its waffle time, with scrambled eggs on the side.

Some people like to cook way too much! Not something I enjoy at all. The older I get the more simple I like my food, but beans 3 x a day would be way too much.
Supper at our house is salad. Yup, every night. DH had a slight health alert about 5 years ago and it's been salads in the evening ever since. It's gotta be a big hearty one though with meat mixed in. Last night it was taco. Tonight might be a pork stir fry covering a bed of greens.
Soups haven't been real big here this winter either, but I can our own beef and boy is that a great base for my beef and barley.

I used ta cook but my DH does it now. About 7 yrs he blew out his back. He couldn't do anything for about 3 months. When he started ta come out from under the pain he was able ta walk around or lay on his stomach. He was board 'cause he still couldn't sit. He started to cook. Something he could do standing. When he went back ta work I picked back up on the cooking except on the weekends. 4 yrs.ago my DFIL was dyeing & DMIL has alzheimer's & I started spending more & more time over at their house. By the end of the year I was spending 10 hours a day over there & DH was going ta work & doing all of the cooking cleaning & laundry! DFIL died 3 yrs ago this coming March. (I also lost my Dad 9 days before my DFIL) DMIL lived with us & I took care of her for 4 months. We found the perfect place for her! DH still does all of the cooking! This gives me more time ta sew!
