pssssssssst ... remember, you don't cook, DublB!

JeanieG ... When I first was given the recipe, I wasn't really excited over it. Except I knew that the person it came from always has good recipes, so that gave me the confidence it'd be OK ... it was more than OK! mmmmmmmmmm!!!

That flag quilt is lovely. Thanks so much for the link!
I can cook, I just don't have ta.
It's so much more enjoyable when ya don't have to! Every once in a while I'll cook (like once a month or so) & DH is always very happy when I do. I usually cook the recipes that he likes ta eat, but doesn't like to cook. These recipes, that ya'll have shown us, sound like just that kind! One of my specialties is King Ranch Chicken. I found the recipe on a can of Rotell. I'll post it if ya'll want me to.

Silly Question there DublB ... don't ya know the answer before you ask, DublB?
You have me totally curious about a King Ranch Chicken... and of course, it just happens to fit with the PC theme.

Tonight I plan to dine with
    QNSue's Pork with Applesauce!

Finished binding my Hospice Passage Quilt and just posted the pics ... all done except for the label.
And now I'm off to post my BCS Mystery update after Clue #5.
Then just might go and work on those curves for this coming week!

What's everyone else doing this lovely Sunday afternoon?
(after fresh snow, sun shining, and -6C, that feels like -14C)

Well, we are getting the RV ready to go tomorrow for our monthly camping group outing. That will be fun, as there is a big clubhouse for eating, playing cards, etc. Soooo, my friends, we will be back "in the saddle" again on Thursday! I'll have a lot of catching up to do I'm sure!

I finished next weeks blocks - the curves went together beautifully, just pinned the middle, the ends and about 3 more pins around the edge. I barely clipped the edges, and they sewed together great. I had the outside edges on top of the dresden plate shape, but don't know if that makes a difference???

Yes, DublB, I love anything with Rotel, please post your King Ranch Chicken recipe! And QuiltE, I can hardly wait to try both yours and QNS's Pork Roast recipe!

And while we're gathered around the campfire and "roughing" it ... JeanieG will be "roughing" (??) it in an RV. Sure, convince us that you "camp"!!!

    Have a fun time,
JeanieG ... we'll miss you and look forward to hearing about your adventures, too! It must be fun to have the monthly GTG to look forward to with your friends. How many meet up for these ventures?

    King Ranch Chicken
1 cup (minimum) of precooked chicken (I usually use leftovers)
1 can of Rotel (or a can of diced tomatoes & green chillies mixed together)
1 can of Cream of Chicken
1 can of Cream of Mushroom
16 torn up corn tortillas (I usually use less)
1 large bag of grated cheddar (I usually buy Mexican 4 cheese mix)
    Sour cream

    Preheat oven 350 degrees F
Mix the first 5 ingredients together. Make several layers alternating between the mixture & cheese. Top with cheese.
Micro wave on high for 20 min. Then put in the oven for the last 10 min. Or in the oven for 50 min.
Serve with sour cream. DH & DSon also likes to eat it with tortilla chips. We also like ta eat Guacamole on the side.

    * The original recipe calls for some saute'ed onions & bell peppers.
    * The original recipe also says to mix the soups & Rotel together then layer every thing else one at a time.
    * When my oldest son comes I add more chicken, 1 extra can of Cream of Mushroom, & 1 extra can of Rotel.

    I do things my way.

    Deeeeeeeeeelicious!
    QNSue's Apple Pork Roast!!!!!!!!!!!

I made it last night using applesauce I'd made and had in the freezer, along with some fresh apples. Just because I like cinnamon, I added some cinnamon to the applesauce.

If you haven't made it yet ... plan to! mmmmmmmmmmm good!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks
DublB for the King Ranch Chicken ... looks like a lot of sauce for the amount of chicken? Do you eat it more like soup?

Hi everyone, mirabelle, I did it the same way you did. I never did curves before but it went ok. My block came out 3/16" short on the bottom so I'm doing it over but at least now I know what to expect.

QNS, is this the method that leaves a little pocket in the goose when it's done?
