QNS, After your post about bamboo batting I looked online about it. There are a few informative videos I noticed, watched one of them, and then looked at the prices for it at Walmart vs. JoAnns. Some manufacturers include scrim, some combine with cotton, etc. There seem to be lots of choices. I'd like to try it, but presently have a roll of cotton batting to use first.

Used sheets from Goodwill or Volunteer's of America, seem to be the cheapest, or if you find one at a garage sale. I find some good condition 100% cotton ones nearly every time I look. The weave or texture of the sheet is usually different than quilt shop quality fabric, but I'm okay with that. I'm using a blue set I got ($4, including pillowcase) for the yellow/blue quilt top I'm working on. I used the fitted sheet for some of the block strips, and plan to use the flat sheet for the back. Since the last picture I showed you (my first try at the stack/shuffle technique) I've added to the blocks. Now deciding on the layout. Can't remember if I showed this picture already or not...

Looking good, givio....I never have much luck in the local thrift shops...stopped yesterday and came home empty handed...usually I find something to bring home.

Givo, I just love your yellow & blue block layout! I liked the blocks when ya posted 'em before but the layout makes 'em sing!

I went to Brownwood & took a class on making a thread catcher w/a weighted pincushion. I love it!

I have a thread catcher from a local quilt shop and love it. dh did not care for his...gives me an extra one.

Local quilt show on face book today that was held over the weekend at Honey Creek, part of Rathburn Lake Resort. The have wonderful cabins to rent for singles or family groups. People come in from all over the nation and repeat the stay another time. I miss being able to share the jokes and quilts with you all. It is my social media for sure. I ignore what I do no like, but find a lot of cute cats an dogs, beautiful flowers, interesting places to go in Missouri and Iowa and recipes, book authors, etc.,

Hope you all have a good week. I need more $$$ before I can look into the bamboo batting and backing. It was the backing that I found once upon a time and never seen it since. Sigh.

I spent the day yesterday doing fabric prep. Doing laundry today. I can sew between loads.

Another work day....been working on a special scrap project...digging through years of muslin leftovers to complement my blocks. Sorted and pressed as I begin cutting...night all

OK, both sides of your mini are beautiful! They look like paintings. Love the wheat fields and pumpkin patch!
