I hear they had a bumper crop of rattlesnakes in Texas. I think they race the snakes and eat rattlesnake meat there, SBG. I think a lot of them are used in different snake farms for their venom which is collected by 'milking' the snakes. Or that is what I have read about it and heard about it.

Dh cousin is coming with his wife to play cards today, so I have to get busy in the kitchen. No sewing today. It snowed about 1 to 3 inches last night. Big storm. It will all be gone by Wednesday or before. Have a good day.

Rattlesnakes... YUCK! We have them here too, supposedly, but I have never seen one in our area (thankfully!).

Funny, but I just made a Texas themed quick strippie lap quilt for donation, and I used some of the rattlesnake fabric you sent me, QNS, as trim and binding! Take a look...

I hear it tastes like chicken.....we have timber rattles here, but few and far between, so I hear.

Nice job SBG...those strippy quilts turn out nice. I brought home fabric for the twins quilts...a forest friends type fabric, called Woodie Winterland. One piece has some cute owls on it. Have a plan for two similar, yet different quilts. This is one of the fabrics.

It is! I'm quilting two more of them today. Super fast. It's called Quick Strippy and the pattern is free at www.MaryQuilts.com , if you need one. Makes a lap sized quilt.

OK, I love that fabric with bears and foxes. So cute.

They do catch rattle snakes & milk 'em for the venom. That is used to make anti-venom. There is also a gun & knife show. Then there are a ton of vendors, & a gigantic flea market.

SBG, I called that piece 'honeycomb' for a bee hive; funny how we each relate to the various fabric pieces. Great job.

No doubts, OK you will turn out two great twin bed quilts.

Three more blocks and I can finish my king size Crazy Flying Geese quilt. Have the borders ready to cut and sew on it, too. Binding almost ready for the Pony Club quilt, I will finish that one. The an equal say on two other quilts to finish, the last LAH one we did Farmer's Wife 1930 and one a friend brought up from Southern Mo., ...then I might do a couple of the kits I have on hand. Auditioning some dark cranberry fabric and a pink cranberry with silver leaf outlines in it and some purple in my fabric/guest room. DH's cousin and wife stayed last night and we played more cards this morning before they left. It was all fun and we both enjoyed their visit.

Busy week coming up; that means we will stay out of any trouble, I hope..LOL!

Here's a picture of the quilt I made for my son for his birthday. This shows it washed and dried-- so 'in use.' :-) It's 64" x 80". My quilt is the same D4P pattern in 30's reproduction prints, but 10 x 10 blocks, 80" x 80" and no border. I still have some 30's fabric left, but not much! :-) I ended up liking his better than mine because of the border. It added a nice touch. (I decided to post this picture in the 'Pictures' thread too. I think it's the first time I posted in that thread...)

That's a wonderful quilt, Givio. The border is really cool.
