WOW on the flowers, QNS! So many pretty irises, and the peonys are gorgeous. My aunt used to have peony bushes on either side of her front steps. The bushes were old and huge. Hers were pale pink.

    All that COLOR to enjoy...

Hi friends, remember me lol? I pop in now and again to catch up with yinz but haven't posted in awhile. I love yinz all and miss chatting. I haven't done any sewing in 3 months--and I used to sew at least 4 hours per day. I need to get my inspiration and drive back. Had the flu in March for 7 days and it took me forever to feel myself again. Funny--I worked 40+ years as a nurse, never had a flu shot, had people coughing and hacking on me daily and I never got the flu. I retire and look what happen lol!!! We also have been doing some remodeling and painting so sewing room becomes the catch-all place for anything that's moved.

Hopefully my sewing muse will return soon. I think of all of you fondly and wish you all peace & joy!!!

Too bad we aren't still doing a sew-along together. Who was it that was going to do the Gypsy Wife quilt? Was it Honchey?

Givio and I are doing the civil war blocks BOW called Rest and Refreshing. They are fun and I have a big stash of CW fabrics. There's a QAL thread, if anyone wants to check it out.

OK has posted in the thread, but we've yet to see a block from her... The main thing is to sign up for the weekly block downloads. They are only free for one week, and then they become $.99 each. Some people are making the blocks up in Christmas fabrics, or contemporary florals, or whatever... not all are using CW fabs. The blocks are pretty and help us tune up our piecing skills!

Good to see ya Jan. I had missed ya!
QNS, your irises are loooovely! I need to thin mine as only the ones on the outside edge bloomed.
I am in Midland. My DNiece is gonna get married on Sat. Mike & I got a hotel room. It is a nice clean room & is downstairs.
DH's BFF died yesterday. We might have to leave here & go to a funeral in Houston. (An 8-9 hour drive.)

So sorry your husband lost his best friend, Bev!

Hope you can still enjoy the wedding. Two of life's milestones... weddings and funerals.

JanRN how nice to hear from you. Sorry you have lost your 'muse' to sew. Hope you have been having fun with your HS friends and other retirees. I am busy with UFOs....trying to finish projects already started. Now If I can continue not to get involved with new projects, I just might finish a few. LOL!

Dublb, weddings are fun, funerals you re-unite with friends and family not seen since the last one. I hate Houston traffic.

Going through paper work, discarding, shredding, and filing papers, looking for a password used on a tablet/pad I sent to DD... I think I might have shred it already, but closely checking out papers for it. without it or the 'card' that was supposed to be with it, it is junk. It was a free-bee with my computer, so no big loss on it. Wal Mart hands the Vulcan brand, so I may ask how much a 'card' for it costs.

Yes, SBG, our former leader did talk about the Gypsy Lady. I think Honchey got too tired of the postings and had other things on her mind. I hope she is having fun. Maybe she lost her 'muse' to sew, too.

With regard to the 'Rest and Refreshing' Civil War Sampler quilt, when she sends the link each week to your email account, and you go to get the pattern download, you find that she also offers you the previous pattern download, in case you missed it. So, you really have two weeks to get it free.

...It's not like we really need more patterns! lol And it's just an ordinary type pattern: 10" blocks with sashing, set on point, with a simple pieced border. But, it's fun to do it with other people. It's like when we did the FWS blocks together-- it's fun to see what other people did with the same pattern and how they used their own choice of fabrics. That's the key for my sewing it-- I like to do it with others, and see what pictures they post.

Here's how my blocks are so far, if you are not lurking on the thread in the Challenge forum and have seen them there...
