Hey... guess what? I've been collecting some fabrics for a pony club quilt since I got the book, and today I made the first two blocks! I love them. Reading the stories really helps you get a handle on the time period and what kind of fabrics to be collecting. Still looking for more to fussy cut. But, take a look at my first two blocks, A Beauty and A Dandy, and see what you think!

I like how you used the blue flowers in the second block. It pulls in an added color for interest. Excellent 30ish print. Nothing wrong with flowers in a quilt that may be destined for a boy. My husband loves flowers. You certainly can use some of those prints again in another block.

I love your red background and white horse shoes along with the faces of the horses in the first block... it sits the bar hight to do the rest of the blocks. Love the second block as well, SBG. Wow what a great start on the PC blocks. Love it.

That first block was nothing but Y seams... enough to scare somebody off the book. Can't believe they put that out there first!

QNS, I agree. I thought, "wow!" -- but you've nailed it on the head. She's setting the bar high. :-)

Come on, Bev... I need someone to make pony blocks with! Anyone else not finish their pony club blocks? Make them along with me...

I found some great fabrics to use and to fussy cut, so I'm excited about making the blocks.

I'm also doing the Rest and Refreshing Civil War BOWs, and two Boom swaps, plus making Christmas blocks for my local charity group. Blocks, blocks, blocks!
