Glad to hear of your great BS progress...QNS...still have more strips to cut from week one. I like the 2 week pace. I guess I like to flit from project to project too much! Daylight's burning here...better get some work done..a sunny 40 degree day here.

    Hi Everyone,

We will be in Washington, DC tomorrow for 5 days. The Cherry Hill Park where we will be staying has tours right from the RV Park of Washington, DC. I hope we can get one for Friday. They also have a shuttle that takes you to the Metro, that takes you into DC - we want to see the Smithsonion's.

After DC, we will be visiting with relatives (two cousins of mine (one in Virginia, and one in South Carolina) and a friend of Joe's. From there we will head across the lower US to New Orleans, then Texas (Bev!!!).

We have seen such beautiful country! I just could not imagine it would be this great!

OH Jeanie! I am so glad that ya aren't here in TX right now. Parts of TX are under water! The thing is we will dry out as fast as we are going under water. LOL

Ditto, JeanieG! Hope you both are having a wonderful trip. Watch out for New Orleans, as it is low ground and floods after every small rain, and it got a lot from the Hurricane down there. Stay save and enjoy DC...and roads onward South.

The chimney sweep came. He was a talkative man. LOL He liked our stove. It is an Earth Stove. He said that brand is the best there ever was. He explained several things about our stove & why the stack is so high. We were hoping that it was over kill but he said no & explained that it will keep the smoke from coming back into the house when the wind comes from a certain direction. He also said that we need a flue in the stack. I guess when DGM had to redo the stove after the fire it didn't get a flue in the stack. We can control some air from the air coming into the back of the stove but we don't have a flue. DM said that she remembers when DGDad would work the flue in the stack. DH asked him what we needed to put on the roof around the stack to make it waterproof & he was was so nice to let us know. He seemed happy to be able to educate us about our stove. Since this is our main heat we really need to have it working at peak performance.
