I finished quilting and bound this monster today. It's for my bed. Blocks came from the 9 patch swap in June.

I used 5 oz polyester batting that I buy by the roll from Marshall's Dry Goods. It's replaced 80/20 cotton as my new favorite. Slept under that quilt last night, and it was so warm I had to keep peeling it off.

JeanieG & I met up in Fredricksburg today. It was wonderful but cooooold. We went into several of the shops. The last one we went into was the Five & Dime. Yes they had fabric. At $5.99 & $6.99 a yard I was so pleased to take some of it off of their hands. Alright, only 2 of 'em were $5.99 a yard. I also got some white muslin. I'll use it w/the Guild BOM to go between the top & minkie. That background fabric is mighty thin & the minky will show through. LOL I just reread it & realized that it will be the batting. We also went to a quilt shop. I didn't buy much there. Just a few FQ's & a half a yard of a lovely gold batik

OH, I forgot about the first store we went into. It was Linens & Things. It had some really nice stuff. There was some embroidered towels, quilted place mats, rugs & quilts. There was this display of some real nice table toppers & place mats that had a lotta cut-work. The work was exquisite. Jeanie & I couldn't leave w/out a topper each. Her's was green w/some flowers on it, daisies I think. Mine is brown w/silver roses. Wait, I think she got 2 of 'em. There were alotta quilts but most of 'em were made in China. But there were 4 or 5 that were "Made in USA." OH how wonderful they were! They were also hand quilted. There was a Mariner's Compass w/ a bunch of those compasses on it. There was a Giant Dalia. One was a Many Trips Quilt & it was made outta (1" squares.) I don't remember the name of the first one we saw, but it had some 4 patches that had 3/4" squares in it. There was another one but it was more modern & I didn't get close enough to see what it's name was.

130? I think I did 10x13. Have enough blocks left from the swaps to build another one!
