Carrie, I am looking forward to seeing the Sunflower quilt finished & the other 2 as tops. They all sound oh so wonderful! At least I have seen the sunflower one as a top & can imagine how it is gonna look.

OK, I love those li'le memory quilts. Keep showing 'em to us.

I have been planting grass the last few days as my neighbor gave me some. He is putting stepping stones in his yard so he dug up some of his St Augustine. I got a bit of it. Well more'n I can get planted! I have only been able to plant for a few hours each day but those hours were enough to wipe me out for the rest of the day! I will plant some more tomarrow (oops today) & that is all I am gonna do. The rest can be laid out & if it roots then it roots. I will have 3/4's of it planted by then anyway.

Going to a Quilt Store Grand Opening today. All fabric is $7.00 a yard, backing is $10.00 a yard. At least I get to 'pet' the fabric!

    Thanks dublb.

    oksewglad...great minis as always!

The Sunflower quilt is finished!! In the washer now. It didn't go as originally planned through the process of making the quilt but I am pleased with the results. I used a white w/yellow dot flannel for the backing and a zig-zag stitch for the quilting. I know the girl receiving it will appreciate it and that makes it all worth it!!!

I also got fabric for 4 FW blocks cut and the 5th one started...having to think about sizes on pieces more for this one as there are some odd triangle and diamond shapes in this one. My hope is to finish up 10 before the day is over...needed to take a break to let the puppy out of her kennel for a while (8 month old, Gertrude...can't trust her in my craft room yet or roaming the house when no one else is home...she loves to chew!!)

I love the sunflower quilt, that is a cheerful quilt indeed and the dog looks very happy.

My trip was a bust. Walked into a room fulled with tables and chairs with women apparently signing up people for classes, no fabric to be seen. A spinning wheel and an older woman was in the corner looked like she was explaining how it worked. I asked and used the restroom and left again...not petting any fabric! So nothing came home with me. That is good news I can laugh about later. I don't know what was going on; may never know. Life goes on.

The green binding is the perfect finish for the sunflowers! A loved quilt is a great reason to see it all worn out in 10 or so years!

Great that we can laugh at things that go awry...guess age teaches us that!

Love the sunny, happy quilt, Carrie. And I really love your beautiful Gertie! What a gorgeous shiny coat she has.

QNS... the best laid plans, huh? I bet you had a little fabric money in your pocket, burning a hole, too.

I goofed. The grand opening was because they had moved to a different location. So maybe in the far future I will get to see their shop. Always loved their store. No excuse for ignorance, I guess. Never seen where it said moving to a new location. Was not meant to be. We travel less and less miles 'cause dh does not feel like driving. Thank God we have a H A R P group in my hometown that will take me to Des Moines twice a year to medical appointments and also to my medical clinic for treatment. Counting my blessings and the future chicken prints for another quilt.

Oh Sue how disappointing. Huggs Hopefully ya will get to pet some new fabric soon.

Still no sewing for me as of yet. We got the doors on the bathroom cabinet that DGDad built. I had to go to DD's to get the step stool to do that though. We also got the bathroom door hung. It still needs to be painted but #2DSon is here for the weekend & we all felt better about having that door hung till Mon. I have blown off the shelves that I am gonna paint & hang in 2 places. I got 'em at an estate sale. DH & I also talked about a li'le floor shelving unit that was here when we bought the house. It held toilet paper. Now DH doesn't want to use it for toilet paper but liked the idea of painting it, putting some beadboard on it & putting it in the bathroom. It is small but will be convenient in it's li'le space. Sigh, I'm supposed to be sewing!
My bathroom is nearly done. The contractor has wrapped up his part.

I got another FW block sewn together this morning. Then this afternoon decorated the cover of a notebook for a 13yr old girl for her birthday...she invited my kids over (they are friends with her older siblings) for cake/ice cream. So thought a little something would be nice for them to take along. My daughter picked up some gel pens to include too.
