Sorry you were disappointed, Givio. Maybe you can sell it on EBay after you finish your quilt.

I finally got over to the new Snip threads Quilt Shop in Humeston, Iowa, and she saved the little 'free packet' from their Opening Day for me. Lovely little shop, and love talking to Ms. Dawson. Someone had eaten the Hersey Nugget in the sack and left me the wrapper! The Memorial for Susan Jacobs, my BF in quilting, was held at Derby today. It was clear that the whole family realized how much she loved them all. Me too. I miss her shopping trips with me. She would go in first and say, " Hi, I am Susan", and I would go in second and say, " Hi, I am Sue two". We would see who could pick up the shop's tote and surprise the other one with it when we exited the store. We made trips to Indiana, Michigan and a four state tour bus trip.

This weekend is Quilter 65 and husband's Golden Wedding Anniversary. I wished her well. She is getting up in the years, and we, at her request, will not be going on anymore trips together. I appreciate her time and efforts on the trips we have shared.

Aw, sorry your trips with Quilter65 are over. It's good she knows her limits, tho. 50 years is an amazing time to be married. What a blessing.

So sorry you lost your quilting buddy Susan. I'm glad you got to go to the memorial.

Thanks for the well wishes about DFGD. This has been a long row to hoe, for everyone involved. There is so much that I want to talk to ya'll about the situation but I'm not supposed to. Sigh. I will say that DFGD is settling in at DD house quite well these days. She is also getting caught up on her Home school work. Even the judge is happy w/her progress.
Oh
Givo, I'm so sorry that ya don't like the BH book. I have one of her books & I like it. I guess that all of her books are different.
Sue I'm sorry that you lost your first quilting sister. I am sure that ya feel that ya have kinda lost Quilter65. I know that ya want her to take care of herself though. Huggs my DF.

Almost finished with another row on the Bible Sampler; forgot I increased each row by two blocks. So have two to 'find' and add. The whole quilt that is done:
The last two on lower right as you view the blocks. Love our cooler weather now in our area. Still have 'coons trying to come in our garage. A live trap stops them for now. We are transporting them daily out of the area.

Well, editing did not cut the second quilt image off the page, but put it at the bottom. Sorry, I tried. Guess you can see it twice! unless the Monitor can crop off the bottom photo. It is going slow, but its still growing. The last block is Birds in Flight, which you may remember doing it before in her other books. Ann loved the color in it.

Oh Sue, That is one awesome quilt. I love how it looks like it is set on point! I have the book but haven't done any of the blocks.

QNS, Lots of purple and blue you are using. Thanks for showing us an update on your progress!

I didn't know you'd traveled all the way over here to Michigan during your trips! It sure is special and fun to have buddies to travel with. I'll bet you've got lots of great memories.

givio--I haven't decided for sure how I will set the blocks. I haven't been able to make much progress on the blocks here lately. I was hired to quilt/bind a baby quilt, do binding on 4 quilts, and make another baby quilt. Plus my sister had a baby so I need to finish a quilt for him. Once all those things are finished up I'll be able to work on the FW blocks again. I completely understand the having lots of projects going and not finishing them all before starting more!!

For some reason I stopped getting notifications for this thread. Hopefully now that I have responded a couple times I'll get emails again...I think I am all caught up now. Sounds like some tough times for some of you over the last couple weeks.

QNS--Great job on making progress on the Bible Sampler. I too have that book but haven't started it yet. I want to finish the 1930s FW one first.
