I finally got a flannel backed tablecloth for a design wall, and hung it up on the wall upstairs, where my 301 machines are. I started hanging all my FW30's blocks and was just amazed by them! I had forgotten how beautiful those little gems are. I'll try to take a pic for you, of all of them on the design wall. I was trying to figure out a nice layout for them.

What are you all planning to use for a background and/or sashing? Cream is nice, but I also have some of that poison green that was used so much back then. I might try the green and if I can't stand it I'll use cream.

SBG, neutral are nice on slashing. Whatever 'pops' the blocks will work.

Honchey, love that little kitten! Cute and intelligent looking cat.

It is icy outside; so thankful we have a warm home and food on hand. Everyone please stay safe.

Progress on wild flying geese....ten blocks done....a good start on the eleventh block.

    Honchey, Pretty kitty. :-)

I've got some of my FWS blocks sewn together on point. I'm not going to use sashes.

10 flying geese blocks-- that's coming along!

Whoo hoo! I've only got the border to do now! I posted this picture over in the BH MQ Challenge thread, but thought I'd post here too in case you are not watching that thread.

QNS, the pale yellows are from you! I've used 10 different prints, but it doesn't show up well in the picture. I just loooove that pale yellow you sent with the large white dots. Thanks again!

SBG, how different our quilt tops look! :-) Yours is more cheerful looking than mine. I think my green is what you called the 'poison green' when you were talking about the FWS setting fabric. lol It's one of my favorite colors! I never imagined it as poison though --always more like... sea green, or moss green... :-p

Very pretty givio! Poison green is usually really bright yellow green color, not so soft as in your quilt..these are examples of poison green I found through a google search..I have a few in my CW repros...back to bookwork...no work or school today...

Love your quilt, Givio! All those scrappy blues and neutrals make it lively. That's the green I was talking about. I really don't know what a poison green is, that just looked like it to me.

I think, OK you got more ice than we did; hope it goes away soon.

Our temperatures are warming up all week and ice will be all gone tomorrow...then on Thursday, it will be above 50 degrees. Progress on the wild flying geese...made geese for two more blocks.

Givio, love your BH quilt! So glad you have used the fabric that I sent to you. No way could I used all that up before my time on earth is up...makes me sooooo happy to know how you used it.

2 hour late start tomorrow, but if rural roads don't improve, it'll be closed. Temps are hovering around 32, so things don't thaw, they freeze...more bookwork done...going to sew for a while...night all...

QNS, for the backing of my BH quilt I'm using a light yellowy gold print you sent me! You sent big strips and scrap chunks of it. Looks like pieces a longarmer cut off after quilting something for you? Anyway, it was the right yellow for my quilt back so I sewed all the pieces together, added some of a pink I had, and voila! Quilt back. Will try to post a photo later.

OK, I was lurking and saw the ADORABLE valentine-y mini quilt you sent in the swap. Too cute! Love those letters full of conversation hearts. Great job on that.

Just finished a donation quilt tonight.

Also this baby quilt, which was the Merry Mayhem New Year's Day mystery.

It's kind of a big deal for me to get two quilts QUILTED. I make tops like they are going out of style, but the quilting of them is quite another thing. Not my favorite part.

Here's a fun article by Barbara Brackman on "poison green". I'm still trying to get a handle on what it is...
