OK - that is just the most wonderful quilt! I think I favor the 1st one, but they are both amazing! So sorry about your DH's cousin. Sometimes you just wonder, don't you! A non smoker getting lung cancer!

I am taking the quilt top with me to Phoenix, I'll have time there to take off the border and make a replacement. We will be leaving on Monday for our monthly RV Group campout, then we are going to Phoenix to visit my son and grandkids. Be gone a couple of weeks.

Love your designs, OK. And making a comfort quilt is a great thing to do. When my BFF was getting chemo she was always cold so I made her one that she was always wrapped up in. She "took it with her" when she passed. I was honored.

I got the notice yesterday, my younger second cousin had died in Council Bluff. Never met her but once back in 1959. Nice to hear you all know your cousins and second cousins, and so on. Always thought family was important, but never had that feeling returned since I lost both grandparents who raised us....and DGM died in 1980 And DM in 1981. Life goes on. Kids are all involved in their own lives, not any of them close to us to visit with. except once or twice a year.

Thanks for the friends we have met and care enough to visit when they can. Or/and the QB for the friends who visit on line.

OK, I like the first one, but either one will be a wonderful gift from you and will be loved I am sure.

    Everone have a wonderful day.

We were close as cousins - all lived in the same town when we were young, and saw each other often. As we all got older, most on my DM's side went to college and moved away. A couple I have hardly ever seen since (so sad), or we saw each other at funerals!

The same is true today. I hardly see any of my cousins. I lost my last Uncle a few months ago, at the age of 94. Several on my DM's side lived into their 90's. The cousins on my DF's side still live in my home town or nearby. I see them around once a year. I am the oldest of the cousins on my DF's side.

I am trying to imagine California sunshine here today..but I know winter is coming on.

Moved Mega and her cage out to the garage that is heated with a new heater now...it is warm enough for her. We cleaned out our 'hen pen' for incoming cats on Thursday. Bf has sold her farm and the cats will have a home here, until she can have them again, if that happens...time will tell. Meeting her half way in Columbia, Mo., to pick up Tiger and Calico. She told of a mountain lion who drove their cattle into a corner of the fence, then sat down and watched the cows. And the time when she discovered herself some 200 feet from it, and slowly backed away from it.

Waiting for Doctor's office to call and schedule the operation to remove the spot on my nose. Will have to try and arrange a driver for that distance, too. Like to finish the operation and get it behind me before bad weather sits in for the winter.

May everyone have a good day, smile, and laugh a bit, too.

Hi Everyone, DH & I are finally off to NC this coming Monday...I can't wait to get away...I just hate all the packing & unpacking after we get there....I am sore as hell..I fell after attempting to back into the seat of a rolling chair & fell on my butt...then the chair had the audacity to fall on top of me...I have several bruises to show for it..I should know better...same chairs at work....

Cousins...I am one of a total of 36 cousins, both sides of the family. I am very close to my cousins on my Fathers side (18)..not so close but still very friendly, don't see them very often..On my Dad's side there were many celebrations where we all got together. All Holidays & Birthdays as we lived fairly close together. a couple of miles apart..My Mom's family lived several hours away and we only got together (as kids) during summer vacations..we no longer communicate, everyone has gone their own ways...It's seems to be the way with some families...All of my Aunts & Uncles on both sides are gone.. most lived into their 80's...Life is good but it can also be so sad...Ahhh, enough about the reminiscing...Have a good weekend everyone..talk to you after I get to NC... H.

Anne - so sorry about that chair slipping out from under you. Yep, had that happen to me before too! Hope your feel better soon! If you are anything like me, you will be black and blue for awhile. Dang, I sometimes don't even know what I ran into for some of my bruises! LOL

Anne & Jeanie, I think those rolling chairs should come with some kind of warning LOL. I do the Alzheimer's testing at our office and was getting ready to test an elderly man who had his wife & daughter with him. They're usually very nervous anyway because they don't want to hear the diagnosis. I try to be calming and professional. I walked in, introduced myself, went to sit on the rolling chair and Plop!! I went right to the floor! So much for professional! They helped me up and we had a good laugh but I was sore for days. My pride was more injured than my backside LOL.

I've been busy gittin' ready for my DNieces baby shower. I had trouble gittin' my stuff ready as I kept havin' ta go & teach my DSis how ta make hers. Yesterday was supposed ta be my sewin' day. I ended up goin' ta her house last night. I made 4 43" X 43" blankets. 2 o' 'em were flannel. On the gray flannel one I put a blue applique elephant in the corner. I was gonna make a kinds cheater quilt. I bought some natural colored prequilted "fabric". I dyed it gray & put a blue bindin' on it. I was then gonna put an elephant in the corner o' it also. As I was tryin' ta fuse the elephant I touched the iron ta the bindin'. Now that iron was real hot 'cause I was havin' trouble gittin' the flannel ta fuse. Well when I touched the iron ta that bindin' it melted!!!! I thought it was cotton but It melted like it was polyester! Well she got 4 blankets & no quilt.
Everyone seemed ta like both gifts from my DSis & myself. That fleece quilt was just darlin'. I'm startin' ta feel like I'm a good teacher.
