Jan--what a great idea! Maybe I can make a few of the mini blocks to use as a border for my star blocks...hmmm. I keep changing my mind on how I want to finish my 2 quilts.

Still cold here with a bitter wind that takes the temp down to a minus 16 degrees. Perfect for planning garden items and wish list of young chicks, guineas, ducks and turkeys. And deciding when they will be ordered. White giant turkeys that weigh up to 45 pounds, giant big Pekin ducks, giant pearl guineas, Black Jersey Giants....and a few more varieties of chicks. We can dream of 'big' fowl in our future! LOL!

Continuing to work on TW, but getting bored of repeat and repeat and repeat the TW star 'legs'...so will put another two rows together to help keep things moving.

    Stay warm and safe everyone.

Blizzard warning in my neck of the woods. Kids no school, but they stayed home this morning...13 yo watched the 2 younger ones so no a.m. interruptions ..folder clothes and cleared DH's closet out. Now to rag up the old t shirts.

What a sharp looking quilt, Jan. Laughed at you old UFO..lucky to have a backup hand to trace!

Dublb must be back tutoring now that school's back in session...hope there's no roof damage, Bev.

Keep at the quilt QNS...you'll get it done in no time.

Been thinking of our others..hi to you all...hope weather's been treating you okay and you are getting some sewing time in.

During BB games been getting some finishes done..a little HST mini that I HQ'd and a mini I started earlier...yeah, sharp eyed Honchey spied the pieces under one of the pics I posted...just stitched the binding this afternoon. Pics later. Stay warm every one...

Good news to share with you all. That private quilt showing I posted on the internet (a month or so ago) hit home last night, and the neighbor called with the news this evening, kidding me that we were in 'hot' water.

Someone recognized the quilts and contacted the daughter who viewed the whole thing last night on the QB posting. The daughter flew into action, and called her brother to go to their parents home, and help them get the dinning room cleared for the LA to come back in where they could use it and to straighten everything else out, even if it took a week or two.

So Joyce, the quilter is in high spirits with her son and grandson helping them For a week or two, and called to thank our neighbor, their long term friend, how very, very, happy she was with their children helping them. Hurrah!! A very good ending for this story.

As my DGM would say, God's in Heaven and all is well on Earth. Ahem.

It's cold here too but I'm sure not near as cold as ya'll northerners. The wind was blowin' a bit. I only got out ta go & pick up my DGN. He will have music on Tues's & Thur's till 4:30 so I go & git him those days at that time. I think I have figured out part o' the problem. He likes the one on one attention so acts like he ca'nt do it. My new strategy is for him ta do the math by himself & me ta check it. I am also talkin' ta him about it not bein' so hard if I only have ta help him on what he doesn't know. I think that helped him kinda kick it inta gear taday.

Honchey, did you brave the cold and get some groceries? I have heard some places deliver groceries. We are waiting for tomorrow, then will go for a short while.

Oh Yes, I went out to the store for: cereal that was on sale and with the coupons were free.. milk for some chocolate pudding today, ice cream for dessert yesterday, spinach salad that went with our dinner last nite, and some meds for DH...I had to leave the milk in the garage which was 26*.

I sewed 19 little 9 patches to add to the rest that I made months ago for Jacks Chain...YAY!

Jan, Your star quilt turned out great! OK, You're like the little engine that could...Keeps on chugging!!

Bev, you have the patience of a saint...My Gkids do their homework on Wednesdays after dinner and I have to eave the room !...All the whinning about not enough playtime!! Are you close to where the earthquake was..any shaking?

Carrie, I remember my first apartment as a newlywed..12 foot ceilings that needed new sheetrock..What a nightmare it was...me holding a long pole with a cross atop it holding the sheetrock up while DH nailed it to the rafters. Are you using the insulation that is enclosed I read about somewhere? regular insulation is so itchy when it goes all over...

I hope to be at the machine again later today...The sun is shining so beautifully today...I'll get some of it sitting at the machine...Later Guys..H.
