Sweet, Anne. You have set the color wheel on its edge here and that will be hard to 'measure up' with our fabrics. But its nice to 'see' some examples that we can shoot for in ours.

I went shopping for my fabric today too! The LQS was having a 20% off sale so figured this was a good time. I decided to go with 3 main prints (same design, different color ways) and then coordinating more solid colors.

I also helped pick fabrics for a friend's quilt (she is planning to join us in August)...her pile looks more like Honchey's.

I have 2, maybe 3 friends who are planning to join us on this new quilt along!

Ohhhh, great fabrics Anne and Carrie! Wow, I love those 40's colors! They seem so subdued after the garish colors I've seen the last five years or so. These colors are so soothing to the eye!

Lovely flowers & veggies Sue.
Carrie & Anne, Lovely fabrics.
I am still on the fence about the sew-along. I do have some 30's & 40's fabric. I haven't ordered the book yet. Hopefully I can budget it in next "money day." LOL We don't have pay-days anymore.
We just had a big storm come through & another one is on it's way.

Beautiful fabric, Carrie. And great news that a couple or more of your friends are joining us!

dublb, I hope no damage to your home from the storms hitting you tonight. Weather persons are saying the weather is going to get worse there before it gets better....wet, wet and more wet for Texas.

As I opened up the house and windows today, taking a break from the QR, I noticed I had missed the stars of our garden flowers by the house itself. So I grabbed the carmer and headed back outside:No. Not the ducks.Roses, he gives me roses everyday of the Summer and Fall. roses, Iris, Wisteria.Missed the Clematis and captured the Drake. There are days like that, that I have. But none of you have days like that! (I hope!) Drakes are giving new meaning to a bachelor pad! LOL!

Nina What a beautiful flower garden you have..The ducks look pretty good too!!

I have been collecting fabrics especially the ones shown for over 20 years..The shops where they were purchased have been closed for over 10 years..and they were also bought all over this great country.. I told DH when you stop losing golf balls I'll stop buying fabric..!

Beautiful flowers QNS! My roses are blooming great also. I always have some in the house. I only buy roses that have a strong scent. I want them to "smell" up my house!

Thanks for the kind words on my pictures of some of our flowers. Roses are from the front door to the East side of the house, just outside dh and guest bedrooms. The Railroad tie bed and full tire of flowers are out in the garden area. Irises line the South Side of the driveway in smaller tires, but has gotten very grassy. So dh is going to move them over to the South side of tires and replant the root without the grass, or so he says. Two Tiger tails are close to the outside night light installed by the electric company. One is in a large tractor tire, with tiger lilies budded for bloom there.

Since its very wet here, I am 'gardening' inside in my QR...working with squares on point of Iris blooming fabric, part of the side border on the purple/green Garden Trellis Quilt; (planning a rose garden), and finishing Grandma's garden before August. Already finished the California Golden Poppies, and looking at another Garden Trellis Quilt of purple lilacs with green trellising borders.

All of Anne's and Carrie's lovely fabrics are encouraging me to think about my stash and what I have that would work in FWQ 1930. Making 'piles' by color, e.i., yellows, oranges, reds, blues, purples, greens and light tones, some batiks. But still uncertain if I will try to do the reproduction or not. We will see later when I decide.

Have a good one. Its going to continue to be wet here, I think.
