Oh, my goodness, Bev "dublb!" I just noticed! You are from Midland, TX!! Two of my sons, one daughter, one SIL and one DIL, not to mention my only grandchild live there. My husband and I visited in October after the birth of my oldest son's little girl, Maddie. What a small world we live in. Maybe I saw you in HEB and didn't even know it!!

    Oh, Anael,

I am so sorry; I didn't know about little Julian. I can't imagine how hard it is on all of you. As a Mom, I know how heartbreaking it is to see your children in pain and not be able to do anything about it. The pictures didn't tell me how really tiny Isa and Bram are. But I am thankful that God gave them a whole week and I will pray for many more days, weeks, months and years to come. BIG, BIG HUGS!

Saturday night .... and I bet OKSGlad is enjoying her family outing to the Lasagna Fundraiser. Good Luck with your Minis and hope you find some items to bid on and bring home too! Happy birthday tmro, LilOKSGlad!

Anael ... what a precious picture! I know they are sheltered in their incubators, but doesn't that pic just put it all into perspective of how small these darlings are! Hope you've had a good day yourself and that all has continued well with the babies. A preemie quilt ... just a tiny quilt, proportioned to the size of the baby!! I saw some done a year or so ago, that were simply a block with some borders.

GGal ... thanks for the further explanation. I was confused about your sheet and safety pins, but it all makes sense now, that I know you are on your design wall. I don;t know why I hadn't thought of that before, but it sure makes sense to me, and helps take some of my hesitations away. So the wool batting warms the bed up? Oh, I like that idea!

DublB ... are you telling us that you put the fear of G.... in them? to be sure they wash their quilts properly, for fear of what will happen if they do not?

All this soup talk, you're all getting me fired up that I need to get my crock out and start brewing some!

QNSue ...Great that you have the stories about your baby time. I really don't know anything ... not even how much I weighed or length. No baby book. What do you mean by "sweat the onions"? Is that another term for saute?

MercysLand ... I see youre getting caught up on your readings! Next thing is we'll discover that DublB does at least one of them!

Now Ladies ... I'm trotting off to post two more blocks ....... and ...... *drumroll* posting a grouping to the 1-45 thread! See you there!!!!

Thank you Laurie. The whole story started about 6 months ago and it's all in this thread. It is heartbreaking to see my child suffering. We're very close and talk a lot, that helps.
And yes, they made it through the first week, last night at about 3 am. they started their second week in this world. It's 7.15 am here now.

QuiltE, I'm making one block every day and hope it will be a huge quilt. If not.....the blocks will go with them. My DS and DDIL decided, if Bram or Isa (or even both) won't make it Julian will join his brother or sister. That way they will be together again.

Laurie, Barbara Brackman started another online quilt along right after her Civil War Quilt. It's called Grandmother's Choice and it's about the fight for women's rights.

Laurie - keep us posted on the possible quilt-a-long, I know many of us would love to join you! I know it is only in the "thinking" stage, but it does sound interesting! We have had so much fun with the FWS and PC quilts!
