OH Jan I am so tired of moving right now it ain't even funny!

I took my DSis to have her nose cancer removed. Sigh they took about 1/3 of her nose. The dermatologist had planned on reconstructing it himself but they had to take more than he had planned. They sent her to a plastic surgeon. It will take a several procedures over a couple of months to get it right.

dublb--I too took a trip to the hospital for surgery today, not for myself but for DMIL...this was the 2nd time in 2 weeks. The first was just for "cells that could be cancerous"...they turned out *to be cancerous* so the surgeon wanted to take a little more tissue to make sure he got it all and also tested the lymph nodes (these were clear). We get the results from the tissue later this week. The surgeon is 95% sure he got it all the first time, so we shall see. DMIL was a bit shocked to find out it was cancerous when she was told to begin with that it wasn't. It is good she had her mammogram and followed up. Her regular doctor told us in November "they" say you don't need them yearly after 75 so it was up to her if she wanted one (she just turned 78 last Monday)...good thing she decided to get "one more".

After the last month of appointments in addition to my regular hectic schedule, let's just say that I am thankful my Spring Retreat is next week!! Now if I can just decide what to work on and get fabrics cut in advance.

OH Carrie, I am sure that was a bit scary. HUGGS I to hope that they got it all.

I am a bit weepy tonight. I wish I hadn't seen DSis's nose. I was ok till then. She needs to quit smoking or it might not heal right. I don't think she can.

My sister-in-law fell down the stairs and broke her ribs. My mother-in-law lives with her and has a stomach problem and can't keep food down and just moans. SIL tried to keep spirits up by saying she's reduced to 'bills and pills' in a bit of humor in the email she wrote this week about it... They don't live in the US, so it's more difficult to help them. Our dog slipped in the mud in the backyard while running and landed on a pointed stick and has a hole in her side. I have to go to the vet in the morning to get it stitched closed. I feel like I've got the 'rule of threes' covered all by myself. Sigh.
On the other hand, the Lord provides us family and what we need each day.

givio--it does sound like you've had a hard time of it in your family too!! So true about God's provision.

Jan--I am sorry I didn't comment your your DS accident, but am happy to hear things are improving.

I have been trying to keep up with the group, but just haven't had the time on the computer I used to...nor in my craft room. I have one side of one border left on my first "Fabulous Stars" quilt...my goal was to finish that in February...didn't make it, but maybe this week since there aren't any other appts. to go to.I got the binding pieced/ironed yesterday. My DH's sister stayed with DMIL last night....either I or my DD will stay with her this afternoon/tonight.

Carrie...we do what we can when we can...right now I have limited time, too, I've had other commitments to take care of...thank Goodness no major calamities, but farmer DS has appointment next week to see if he needs ligament surgery in his shoulder...could put a damper on his farming for a while...just know we are cared for by a higher power each and every step of the way.

Meanwhile 2 hour late start with 4-6 " falling...I thought snow was to be over by now...

Hi Everyone, I don't know where to begin with all the "news"..Let's just pray that it's all "done with".. One bad thing about being "away" like I am is that when "news" happens it's so hard to decide to stay or go...We also had news to deal with... so I can say February is finally over and done with..

Ok, love the Checkers quilt... I'm still working with bits & pieces..last time I took them out of the baggie I sewed the wrong corners to them and now they are all back in the little baggie "D.
4 scrappy quilt tops were pinned at the stitchers group yesterdayand I'm putting together 2 D9P of which one is mine..pretty red & grey one...will show a pic later...
