Jeanie, I got stalled out on Allietare because it just seemed so endless. I have mine upstairs at my Singer 301 and will work on it when I get annoyed with hubby (or what he's watching on TV), and need to retreat upstairs for some alone time. Eventually I will get it done. I'd like to give it to my son and his wife as a wedding present.

I still have the Grand Illusion mystery quilt from last year sitting around unquilted. For shame, for shame...
My Grand Illusion is about half quilted! Shame on me too!!! Every year I get later and later getting Bonnie's Mystery Quilts done. Oh well, they all turn out beautiful in the end, even though her colors are not something I would choose. My favorite is my first one - Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll! It has been on my bed for several years!

So glad to hear from you OK, come back again soon.

Really nice o see what everyone has been working on in the wonderful pictures. Everyone has done a great job, so nice to see the sewing projects of all. What a relief when they are done.

Past history of our Irish Chains and Owls....25 different owls and I made three of them...dh wanted one so ts hanging in his bedroom. He made the first one that is on the bed in the guest room...One of two we made for our extra long adjustable single beds. Pinwheel on point as demonstrated by Jenny Doan at the Missouri Star Quilt Company that I am binding...all four corners turned out perfect! Will try to take pictures of some of the newest projects later. Including the Floral Irish Chain first made on QB by JeannieS, and the pattern explained to me by Quilter 65...Take care and have a wonderful day.

I am going to Cantril, Iowa Dutchman's Store today with the neighbor lady, Patty. We will take the two quilts to be hand quilted, and take my 1540 Bernina Sewing machine to be fixed in Memphis, Mo., and eat out somewhere special, Yesterday was at One of a Kind, a tea house and B & B in Centerville, Ia. Later when we are back home, I will set out as many new flowers that I can, then finish them tomorrow. Annuals and perennials (misspelled this morning my mind as a senior moment!) Onward into the day.

QNS, what a busy day you have planned... but a fun one! Your quilts are lovely. The owls look like hand painted work. Did you paint them? And is your hubby a quilter too? I love Irish Chains. One of my very first quilts was an IC.

YOU CAN PLAN the day, and it will happen very differently. How many knew it was National Prayer Day? It was and the Mennonites did not open their stores today....Lots of people were discovering that as they pulled up to park as we did. Poor store will will filled tomorrow, with people shopping for Mother's Day We came back home and I fried chicken with Broccoli and baked potatoe and gravy for lunch. After lunch Patty and I gathered rhubarb for her and her large family.

We spent the afternoon planting the plants I picked up last Tuesday in K. Three flats of marigolds, cock's comb and snap dragons are planted in dh's Iris bed . Have the Clematis and other plants to do tomorrow. No QB work until they are planted.

DS sent me an unusual Mother's Day gift. One) it was addressed to him at this address, so dh called to let them know, DS called me and said 'It's your Mother's Day Gift'. When Patty and I got to my house, DH had opened it up, not understanding whom it was for....and did not understand the gift. Growing up with foster grandparent in the old days before TV & cell phones, we spent many a snowy night in Southern Iowa playing cards and Dominoes. They were very proud of their double twelves and we kids learned how to add up figures quickly in playing them... Then a friend said she had found double 15s; i bought some and DS and I conversed about them at our 50th party. He said he had seen a higher than that... so DS sent me a Mexican Domino set of double eighteens. (no instructions, jsut the turning 'round house' to start the game into action.) Any domino players out there?

QNS, Such a nice pattern of quilting on the Irish Chain that has the flowers in the centers. It looks like a 'so-happy-and-quick-and-get-it-done-so-I-can-enjoy-my-quilt' type of quilting.

I had forgotten that today was the National Day of Prayer, too. It sure isn't publicized much. Sorry you didn't get into the shop QNS. Glad they were praying for our country!

I spent the bulk of my afternoon repairing an old quilt for a widowed man in our church. It was made in the 80's and he said he sleeps under it every night... so I'd better deliver it to him first thing tomorrow. It smelled so terrible I could hardly stand to handle it. Probably been years since that big heavy thing was washed. Anyway, it's done and so is my good deed.

This evening I started sewing together a short sleeved button up shirt I had cut out for myself. I love to make myself shirts. They have patterns according to bra CUP SIZE nowadays... imagine that! They do make the clothing fit well. Once I finish the shirt I'll knock out a few more 30's blocks.

Hope everyone's having a relaxing evening.

I was out today and wanted to see the other FW books, so I went to Barnes and Noble bookstore. Very disappointing that they didn't have a one of them in stock, nor the Sylvia's Wedding Sampler I also wanted to see. What they did have, tho, was a FW 1930s blocks coloring book. It would have been nice except that the pages were printed on this heavy yellowy paper-- yuck. Yellowy enough to distort whatever colors you would put on it. Boy the coloring book craze has really taken over. They had probably 100 titles of coloring books. Some of them would make great embroidery patterns for hand embroidery. (Light bulb goes on....)

I got some weird news while I was out today, that I'm still shook up over. I had some bad abdominal pain about three weeks ago, and nausea, dizziness and fainting. I got referred to a gastro-enterologist (sp?) by my FNP and it took till this week to get the appt. This dr. scheduled a colonoscopy for next week, and drew blood for a liver function test. Today they called me and said my liver enzymes are HIGH. So now he's scheduling me for an ultrasound next week too, for my gall bladder, and a test for hepatitis! I don't understand this at all... I am the healthiest person I know! I don't smoke or drink, I eat well, am not overweight, get enough sleep and work out several days a week. How in the world could I have hepatitis? Wish I knew more about all of this. I don't even feel the slightest bit sick. I would appreciate your prayers. I want this all to go away. Maybe it's not as big a deal as I'm making it....

Sewbizgirl, do a google search and found out more info for yourself before next week. If you have had a blood bank, a blood transfusion it could have been in it as I understand it. JanRN is our 'official unofficial' nurse on line. Prayers are coming your way, think positive and trust the Man above to be with you through the whole thing. You can google www.MDmeds.com on line for info. May all the Irish good luck be with you.
