Great news about your mom, Bev. It's so hard to get older people to drink their water! They always think they have had more than they actually have.... Used to have that struggle with my mom, after they took out one of her kidneys.

SBG, I'm going to pay an acquaintance to quilt mine. I don't know what to suggest. There is so much pattern in the KF fabrics, that it's hard to know what to do with it. Did you have any ideas? I thought green thread on the green would help that row to stand out, then use blue on the rest of it-- beyond that, I don't know. Anyone else have any ideas about it?

I'll try the soap trick. I've never heard of that! Never heard of mustard either. But I do get leg and feet cramps in the night sometimes. I thought it might be a vitamin deficiency and got some B6 and Magnesium, but I can't say or not if taking that helped me.

Calcium is suppose to help with leg cramps too. My husband always gets up and takes it when he has leg cramps at night.

I am due for a colonoscopy again next month too. I have to have them every 5 years, because I had polyps when I had my first one. This is #3 for me! The last time they had me use Crystal Light as the mixer with the Miralax, and that was so much better than the mixture I had to use the first time.

Bev - glad your mom is doing better! Prayers for you guys!

Givio that is a pretty quilt. So many pretty colors.
Dublb I hope your mother is healing.
Sewbizgirl that was such a nice suprise you got for Mother's Day.

I went over to my son's house for Mother's Day, and they fixed dinner. They got me a few blouses with matching thinner summer scarves, and 2 necklaces one with matching earrings. The gifts were for Mother's Day, and my birthday together which is soon. We had a good time together.

Sewbizgirl last I heard they are going to keep Jessica on the ventilator a couple of more days. They have been trying her out on a c-pap to help with her breathing as they try to get her to breath on her own a few hours each day. They said it's going to be a long recovery for her. I have never seen a young person like her go from having a cold to almost dying this fast, and on life support for this many days. She is still in the medically induced coma.

I haven't been getting a lot done as most of you girls are, but I guess that's ok.

Hope you find out soon about all your tests Sewbizgirl.
Those colonoscopies are just wicked. lol... Just the prep. I have had one, and could use one now, but I am now afraid to have one, because before my mother died she was scheduled to have one, and went through the prep and then went into seizures and almost died, and ended up being sent to another hospital and went into cardiac arrest and put on a ventilator for a couple of days, and that had a pacemaker put in to regulate her heart rate. Mom never made it for a colonoscopy. She was already having electrical problems with her heart, but I think she probably had lupus herself. She tested positive once, but the next time it didn't show so she never pursued it.

Have a great day everyone. Happy Sewing, gardening, looking at fabric, or just relaxing.

    Prayers for Jessica, Susan...

The colon prep that used to be the standard was "Go Lightly" which is primarily polyethylene glycol... which is what, plastic? On my first colonoscopy two years ago I drank that and it drove my blood pressure up so high I nearly had a stroke. My head was about to explode and I literally felt like I was dying. They had to give me injections to bring my blood pressure down before they could do the scope. Maybe your mom had some reaction like that too, Susan? Now my dr. won't even use the Go Lightly, so I guess many people were having problems with it. This time I will be drinking 64 ounces of Gatoraid with Miralax, like JeanieG mentioned. Oh joy... fun day.

Hi All I had a nice Mother's Day weekend. Friday night I had a Ladies Retreat with women from church (not Mother's day related, but started the weekend off nicely). Saturday morning my mom, youngest sister and I went to a "mother-daughter brunch" that my sister invited us to. It was put on by a group called House of Hope (place for struggling women to go and get a break, encouragement, etc...has made a huge difference in my sister's life). That was a special time for us all to be together. Then Sunday afternoon my oldest daughter came for a visit. After that we went to my mom's for supper and a good visit...my sister and her family were there. We have 2 other sisters but they both live out of state.

I haven't done any sewing for a couple weeks now...waiting for my machine to get back from being serviced. I did cut some fabrics for some paper piecing blocks. Need to cut for a baby quilt (sister in NC had her 4th child last week)....I'll have to use one of my other machines to get it sewn up for my mom to take with her when she goes to visit.

Praying for those with health issues or family members with things going on right now. Never any fun. I've had a headache (a couple days with migraines) since Saturday, so that has made this a long week.

Did I tell you that we got a new puppy? She keeps us busy! She's almost 16 weeks old and around 30lbs already. Her name is Mildred. We have two older dogs (sisters)...they are about 6 1/2yrs. Beatrice and Ginger. Ginger was diagnosed with bone cancer a couple months ago so not doing too well these days. Mildred perks her up though so that is nice to see.

1st picture is the day we brought her home (3 weeks ago on my birthday). 3rd picture is my daughter holding Mildred. Ginger is on the left (you can see the tumor on her back leg) and Beatrice on the right. It is hard to get a picture of all three together (believe me we've tried!!) lol

Carrie, your Rotties are beautiful! Mildred must be a lot of fun. Poor Ginger... hope she's not too uncomfortable.

They say that a glass of water before bedtime helps with leg cramps..something about dehydration in the legs when laying down....
Wow Carrie, your dogs are big...I had a shepherd once and she kept on knocking me down when she walked next to me...

    good to hear from everyone!!

This is the baby quilt I had to do on the quick, for my daughter. She did all the design work herself. Now to get it in the mail to her.

I had to use the Gatorade the first time, I cannot stand the taste of the stuff. The Lemonade flavored Crystal Light was not bad to drink at all! I cannot understand why kids like Gatorade!!!

Sewbizgirl - that quilt is adorable, I'm sure the recipient will love it!
