Bev & Anael, thinking of you both. Everyone here has been a great help to me this year--let us help you, too. Prayers/positive vibes, whichever you believe in are on the way. Keep us updated.

Question for GGal: I have the 50 Fabulous Stars (Carol Doak) and love them. Did you order the CD that prints the patterns/foundations? I'm thinking about it; makes it so much easier than standing at the copier (at work LOL) and copying all those patterns. I really wish the books came with a CD; I'd gladly pay more for the book if it came with the CD instead of ordering it and paying additional postage. If you have it, is it worth ordering? Also, does the CD let you re-size the patterns? I'd rather do them at 8" or 6" than 12". Also, if we do one a fortnight (my new favorite word!) it would take 2 years to do all the blocks. I really like them though.

EQ is having a good sale today. I ordered Karen K. Stone's MORE Quilts. On sale for for EQ but it comes in book form, too. Check this one out as a possible future group project. Lots of variety-NY Beauty and Pickle Dish type patterns. I also looked at Carol Doak's Mariner's Compass book. Nice, too. Do you think we have enough suggestions that we'll be quilting together for the next 10 years? I hope so!!!!

Jan, I'm not planning on leaving in the near future. Guess you guys are stuck with me for a few more years
I have the 50 Fabulous Stars too, without CD and I don't think I will order it. It would be easier, I agree but I can copy the patterns at home. I started her Mystery Blocks from her Yahoo Group. First time ever I made a Carol Doak block

Jan, I purchased that Carol Doak book quite a few years ago and it has a cd in it. it also has the patterns that can be copied...I never loaded the cd so I don't know if it has the patterns on it also... I'll have to dig it out..it's in the attic somewhere...

There is a group started or starting Carol Doan's 50 pp stars now on QB so we may not get permission for our group to do it...

Hello--for my demo today only 3 came to see it. The LQS owner thought it was probably just the wrong time of year...it hits Dec 1st and people are suddenly thinking they have to get ready for Christmas NOW. She said we may try again after the first of the year. I was a little bummed, but was able to help some around the shop doing things and also got the fabric I needed for different projects.

Anael and Bev--sorry to hear about the hard times right now. Thinking of you...

I think maybe a smaller project than the 50 stars might be good, then we can work on our UFOs in the time between new blocks. If we want to do stars, the site that Mirabelle suggested would be a good one. We can do it as one block a month or fortnight....if we do 2 a month, then it would only take 6 months and maybe some more of us would be caught up with our PC quilts (and other stuff) and be ready for something else. However whatever is decided...big or small...I will be here...just my thoughts.

I'm home. They finally got us a sitter. Now that I'm home, I'm wired. It'll be a bit before I git sleepy. DMIL is a bit fretful th'sevenin'. Better than lethargic. One day at a time.
Anael I'm prayin' for al 3 o' your grandbabys.

Hang in there dublb! I know what you are going through. You need your rest though, so find something to help you relax and get your sleep.

Sorry, Carrie, that so few showed up for your demo...after working so hard preparing for it. Holidays have hit everyone, maybe next time it will have a far better turn out. Any 4-Hers or similar groups that might come in as a group to see it?? Maybe if there is holiday hand-food there, like a cookie with recipe...'cause quilters cook.

Dublb, hang in there, day by day. What will be, will be, but we are all here for you.

Anael, we are thinking of you, too, with prayers and hope that all will be well with the triplets. Medical science has been amazed at miracles more than once and we are hopeful our prayers will work that miracle.

Jeanie, tell how nice your weather is in California; and Dublb, tell me how nice it is in Texas...it is so foggy and wet and cold here...I need sunshine!!
