Time for my BBs to strut their stuff!!
..........or perhaps I should say your BBs .... though they are now mine. All Mine, !!

Ladies, every time I look at my blocks, I see another something special that I hadn't noticed before. I get the warm fuzzies just thinking of these blocks, so imagine how snuggly I will be when they are all together in a quilt? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the time that each of you put into your special blocks for me. I know I am truly blessed with special friendships with each of you. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU AGAIN!! :d

I still can't get over how well they go together. That was my biggest fear in this swap, and there sure is no reason to fear! As you'll see I have been auditioning fabrics. So far the navy is winning, though not quite there. Some of you will recognize it, as it is in some of the BBs.

Now to tell you a little more about the BBs I sent out to all of you.

Sadly, I did not take a picture of the ones I sent, though I did do a group shot of the ones I made. You see, I got carried away, and have visions of a scrappy quilt, done using that block and keeping it subtly patriotic. So the overflow will be well used! As though I needed another project, right?

Before the reveal, I had shared that my BB was simple, but symbolic. I chose the Double Friendship Star, for the two friends! The fabrics were chosen for that representation ... one point of the star specifically for the recipient, coordinating with their PC or a colour I knew they liked or something special I knew about them. The other point was for me. The background is the text fabric for our National Anthem, O Canada which I first showcased when I made Monty last year. And the maple leaf centre, just subtly Canadian, to help you remember it's from me!

Hope that you all like them and can find a home for them in a special project.

Here's the pic of the BBs and those in limbo for that future project!

BTW every fabric used in your BBs was used in my PC

That attachment did not work for me QuiltE. I like how you have your BBs arranged...will try to arrange mine later today.

Storm is Stormy outside..."Rocky" is a blizzard with about six to eight inches on the ground, still snowing, and blowing snow, cannot see very far not too cold, about 30 degrees but wind chill will take that down to ten degrees. Schools are closed in the whole area of Northern Missouri and Southern Iowa. Only thing I saw moving this morning was DH and our ducks outside...so we are sitting in at home and not trying to go out today...

since storm is moving through, my head feels a little better so I can sew today and work on the computer..

Love the pattern and the colors, QuiltE. I downloaded that pattern yesterday from www.quilterscache.com myself as I was playing around on the computer.

See if I can download a picture here:Dh in his kilt, socks and hat with his walking stick back when he did not weigh as much as he does now. I love him on the installment plan: by reaching around as far as I can, make a mark and hug him from that point on around again....to reach all around him in the middle! LOL!

We all need a laugh on a day like today.

Here are mine. I am going to make a wall hanging, like Jan suggested, for my sewing room. I am toying with using this fabric as the sashing. I am going to do the QAYG technique. What do you think??? I really need to get them off my display board and get my PC blocks up there to decide which ones I am going to use for which quilt. Remember I am making two lap quilts, rather than one large one.

I would love to dedicate this song to all my PC friends. I think we're getting there with our little group of people all around the world! Thank you my friends for everything you're doing for me!

Today I touched Bram and Isa!! Today Isa is wearing her yellow smock with the tiny red roses. She looks like a princess!

Latest news on Bram and Isa: Isa is doing fine since the surgery. There is some concern about her brain though, the neonatologist was talking about 'white flare'. Same with Bram. She said this was normal with micro preemies but it should go away. Otherwise Isa is doing fine.
Bram has been very restless these past few days and they can't find why. The neonatologist said now the difference in birthweight shows. He didn't gain weight over the past few days, Isa did. They still don't know if the fungus is still there or not. The testresults are negative, the X rays aren't. Those still show spots on his lungs. They sent the X rays to another hospital for evaluation and on Thursday Bram will be subject of discussion on a boardmeeting with specialists.
Though both are looking ok and doing ok too they still are very unstable and in critical condition. She also mentioned Bram and Isa were the sickest preemies of the whole unit
My DS and DDIL later told me this neonatologist 'likes' to point out all the negative stuff. To be honest I think she's very realistic.
While we were there we were ordered to leave the unit because they were working on one of the other preemies and something went very very wrong. We don't know the outcome though as we weren't allowed back in. My DS told us he saw a flat line! Made me feel so sick and sad. I hope he or she made it!

Tomorrow I will be gone for most of the day so you won't hear from me till late in the afternoon.

QNS, nice kilt Did he make this one himself too? I had to laugh about the way you're hugging him

QuiltE I love your friendship stars

JeanieG will sign your block as I can't find your signature anywhere, maybe I need new glasses

QNS love your installment plan

I have tried to send you an e-mail for this Iowa Star but it keeps coming up with an error so will reply here if that's ok, I changed the sewing sequence as the way she had it was stupid and confusing.

Pieces 1 to 4 I cut a 2 3/4 inch square, a little bit of waste not much

Piece #5 I cut a 4 inch square and cut in half on the diagonal

Pieces 6 and 7 I cut a 5 by 3 inch rectangle and cut in half to make an elongated triangle

If you have any problems just give me a yell
