Watching "This New House" on DIY shows me how little I know about building items that help with heat, air flow and quality of air in the home...wow. What a difference it would make here... one can only dream and wish, I guess.

It was nice to hear from OksewGlad and GG, now if we can hear from QuiltE, GrannyO, and DD...at least a 'hello' would be nice. Hello folks, you are being missed here.... No, GG, the pad weighs too much too send back; hoping it will help a bit 'cause it gets his feet off the cold slap concert floor. What small animals do you work with using heat pads??

Beautiful Day here, sunshine!! Cannot believe our December weather...up into 70 degrees!! Nice road trip to pick up more chicken feed and cat food. Cats, of course, had to supervise the bags being dumped into their steel garbage can, and have a 'sample' of the new food to eat. Picked up boxes 6x6x6 to pack the 'goodies' in for Christmas...have had four responses so far from members on the PC trail...hurry 'cause time is running out...and Mrs. Claus's kitchen is closing soon...treat samples come with recipes attached..

Dh cooked too much of his 9-grain cereal this morning, so I made him cookies using a cup of his 9-grain cooked cereal, Splenda for sugar, Quaker Oats, mini chocolate pieces, and a bit of crunchy peanut butter. A whole breakfast in a cookie, that quickly fills a hungry stomach.

QS, we've been having great weather, too--65*today. Finished putting up the outside decorations. It was too nice out to stay inside and sew. I have 11 of my bonus blocks done and I ran out of one of the fabrics. Darn-that means I must go shopping!!! My 2 quilty friends and I are going on a FART tomorrow and of course it's supposed to be 38* and blustery. At least it's not going to snow. We've only had a trace of snow so far this winter. Yay!!

QNS...we used those heated pads in the farrowing house when we raised pigs. The sows were in crates and the heated mat was to the side under a heating lamp and the piggies loved it. I would still recommend calling Nasco and checking on their return policy. They might pay the shipping. Did you have your house built or did you buy it from someone who had lived in it?
Jan..too bad you have to go shopping to finish the BB....have fun! Our weather has been exceptionally warm as well but colder weather is said to be coming. My DH had the kitchen window open yesterday.
I didn't quite get the bindings done today. I forgot how many steps there were and I did have a couple of rows of Baptist Fan quilting to finish up on the one and it took most of the morning. Both are pressed and glued ready for the last seam tomorrow! Another UFO moving from the backburner that has possibility of finishing this week too. I love seeing competitions.
Mirabelle...that's the kind of weather I can do without. It just makes me wilt. Nice you have a cool room wo sew in.

We too have been enjoying the mild winter thus far. I am sure it is not going to continue, but am happy for what we get. My kids just think that if it is going to get cold it *has* to snow too!

I was busy cutting up vegetables for soup yesterday afternoon for a veggie/cheese soup for my card club Christmas party last night. The recipient of my table runner was happy for it. I also gave my good friend who hosts our card club a table topper I had made a while back (I shared it here, star shape that looked like a wreath when I added red buttons).

Today I just had a little bit to sew, so I got a dresser runner finished up for our bedroom. It is about 56" long and 8" wide. It is the butterfly ("shimmer" line) kaleidoscope blocks. The black is my refrigerator...do you think I need a narrow black border or binding to finish it off?

I feel so lost.....I don't have to post any threads and I feel like something is missing...it's Tuesday evening and I don't have to do anything!!! I love to read all the chatter...everyone's busy doing something....I will have the grandkids tomorrow for a visit & dinner..
looking at fabric for the bblocks.. and working on a project or two...I'll be working on them in NC as we're leaving for NC a couple of days after Christmas... It was beautiful here today also...I am so tempted to take a ride to Seaside Heights ...I spent all my summers there as a child well into my teenage years...several of my aunts & uncles had summer bungalows and all 16 of us (cousins) drove them crazy all summer long....The only people allowed in that area are the residents...I think it would be too sad for me.... Jan & Mirabelle...good for you.. getting the blocks done so quickly....I'm still on the fence about which to do...maybe I'll do both...I'll check in on you all tomorrow....

So glad everyone is taking time to visit. It is weird not to scramble around, find blocks, take a pic, then post each week. I should be doing that with my Rosie blocks but I'm just not that into them. Very little feedback on blocks and no chatter. Still, the blocks are fun and everyone's are so different.

Bev, hang in there. I know you must feel like you're on a roller coaster: good news one day then bad news the next. I think the hardest part is lack of sleep. Even when you get to bed, you "half sleep" waiting for the dreaded phone to ring in the middle of the night. Lots of prayers and positive vibes being sent your way from all of us,

Carriem, I love your table runner and don't think I'd add black binding; the blue fabric is outstanding, just love it and wouldn't want to take away from it.
    .
Well, I must rush off to my FART--Yay!!! We have so much fun--3 old ladies in a bright orange minivan laughing, talking and solving all the problems of the world and, of course, shopping!

It is a little strange not to look for a new thread, but it looks like we've found this on all right.

Has everyone doing the bonus blocks received emails from me?? If not, please PM me so I can send you final details that way.

    Bev--you are in my prayers.

Jan--Have a great day with friends.

I work today at the quilt shop...get to look/touch fabric all day...almost as good as shopping for it.

Carrie, I think I've got your emails. Not sure though, last one you sent was November 26th.
