Honchey - The pattern is by Quilts Illustrated, designed by Penny Sturges. Mine is the Mini Bow Tucks Pattern - it is 11" wide x 10" tall by 5" deep. There is a larger one too. There are tons of photos of the purses here on the board!

Jeanie, I love your purse and admire all who can make them. I made laptop bags and sold them at Christmas 3 yrs ago. I sold about 25 of them and could have sold more if I'd have made them. No way!! It takes me longer to make a bag than it does a complicated quilt block. Make sure to show a pic when you make your summer purse; I'm jealous.
Anne, feel better soon. MrJanRn is having dental work Monday--OMG, he is such a whiner when he has a pain. Maybe I'll volunteer to work that day (just kidding!)
I wish QE--and all of yinz---would come visit me!! What fun we'd have. QNS will have to cater though-she's the cook in our group I think. QE is checking out Sweet16's and Tiara's if she has time after her meeting in her area.

Did some one say "QNS" cooks; I am ready. Have chuck wagon, will travel!! Meet in the virtual RV.

:Oh, that lobster was very good today and I stole one of dh scallops. Got to pick up thread at JoAnn's and books at Barnes and Noble, so it was a good day....

But the raccoons got two guineas last night, day before a Red tail hawk killed one, so they go in with the chickens tonight and hope that protects them better. Will get a few baby chicks tomorrow at Kirksville to join the clucking hens.

Love the purse. Gotta tackle that job 'cause I promised to make AIL one for her wheel chair/walker. Have pattern, need time.

Maybe Honchey, you need to trace where Dublb's Mystery block is, and if we all need to ride posse and deliver it to Texas.

    I did it again....2nd reply erased...third time's the charm..here goes again...

Dublb"s block was mailed on the 25th of March...I hope it's still enroute to her and not lost in the system....

I sent out feelers for the bow tuck pattern here on the board..maybe someone would like to sell me theirs...

I finished my April MB and it turned out great...the back looks as nice as the front...I would say more praise about it ...but that's not good manners!!!!

The Celebrex kicked in today and most of my arthritic pain has disappeared...I have a rather large bruise on my chin/jaw...a friend of mine in the store today asked who hit me!!! She was joking of course...

Jan, I swear I'm going to visit you this summer...We won't be going to NC when it's just as hot here...Maybe I'll plan a trip to Ohio & chicago to visit DH's family and make a detour along the way...Are there golf courses close by you???

Jeanie--congrats on getting your PC blocks together into rows. For your quilting, I think if you do SITD around parts of each block it would be ok on the back of your quilt...even if the back is pieced/scraps.

QE--hope that you have a great trip and get to try out a Sweet 16!!

I haven't made a bow-tuck purse, but they look like they would be pretty similar to the purses/bags I make with a tie at each end. Jeanie, I like the fabrics you used and look forward to seeing your "summer" one.

Anael--great job figuring out the BSR! How did the visit to see the GK's go today?

Honchey--good to see you here today. Hope that as the day went on you felt better and not worse as the day went along!

Janie--were you able to make any progress on your PC blocks? I know for me the last couple I was thinking "am I done yet?"

QNS--what good stuff are you making today? Too bad about the guineas. Our DD saw the chicks at Theisen's the other day and wanted to bring some home. She doesn't think about the fact that we would need a *very* secure place for them to be with all the timber around our house, both racoons and coyotes would definitely come to visit.

I spent my wages today while working. I got the rest of the fabric needed to finish my BB quilt and FFC runner, plus the bag. Oh and I bought some FQs for 2 more MBs. Also I chose fabrics for a shop sample (with the help of another employee)...it will be a wallhanging or table topper.... finishing ~36" square. I started cutting it today during a slow time so should have something to share by the end of the weekend.

I made a little FART today. First of all had to go to Bernina dealer to order a new bobbin shuttle. The pin that holds the bobbin in place broke off on Tuesday--mine has a plastic pin. So took the broken one down to order a new one. So while there the new owners were have a Grand Opening $2 off regularly priced fabrics plus some other in store specials. I bought fabric to finish the PC Quilt. I have decided to put mine on point so will not need all the blocks from the book. Now I can really pick and choose which ones I want to sew and may take out those blocks that don't "fit" an on point format and use them on the back or in a sofa quilt. The fabric I found is from KT's Harvest Moon line. It is a navy rose like flower with black accents. Perfect for the blacks and blues I have used in the blocks. I will also use this on the 4" outer border. I still need fabric for the side and corner triangles. Since I need less than 2 yards I may find it in "OK's LQS" Here's my EQ rendition of my proposed plan. It will finish about 98 x 111-a nice size for our queen sized mattress. OK--that layout is really neat with the solid blocks alternating/random...can't wait to see your real quilt!

Really like that layout, OK. I was thinking of you today while making a MB (NOT yours LOL). I usually work on small blocks, not as small as yours, and I was having trouble with the 12" size. I kept cutting my pieces too small. How do you adjust your thinking to "large"?

Carrie, if I worked in a fabric store, I'd owe THEM money on payday!

Anne--yes! DH says there are at least 12 golf courses within a 10 mile radius of our house. Come on down (or over or whichever direction.)

Jan - I know what you mean about the sizes of the blocks. The 12" just look huge to me, after doing umpteen 6" and 8" ones!

OK - that quilt is going to be spectacular! I like the way you have it designed!

Anael - did you get to see the babies? We want photos!!!! Hope you got to hold them!
