Oh I am so tickled you got it, Jan! It's a simple block to do and one can showcase a really pretty fabric in the center too. Thanks everyone. It's nice to see the blocks to help give cohesion to the MB color/design preferences. I kept looking at Carrie's Night and Day for comparison, and thought yellow would look nice on the the points! Had it all finished and then it dawned on me. Jan doesn't do yellow! This is a soft buttery color and shouldn't yell too loud at you! FYI my kitchen/great room is all yellow!

DD beautiful Hearts and Gizzards for Honchey!

    Jeanie
before long you'll be enjoying the new surroundings! Deep breaths until then.

QNS--you only live once and we are never too old to learn! Enjoy.

Snow update--grass is no longer showing and it's still snowing. Birds don't know what to do--been on the lane all morning--not too many worms there!

CarrieM .. so glad to know your DD is feeling better. Now to hope that she continues to be migraine-free. Was this her first? My table is a locally made one by a young chap. His Mother has an LQS, so his first was built to her dream specs. From there, he turned it into a full time business, once he graduated as an Engineer! I know I will like it ... just that right now I'm having problems deciding what to put where!

Jan & Ok...What a striking block and the yellow sets if off perfectly...I love it..great choice OK! and lucky you Jan...

Lots of activity going on here and I'll be adding to it in a couple of days....June's MB is going to be typed up tonite. Yes, June already...Time's flying when you're having fun, fun, fun...

The pineapple cake is too sweet for my taste...I'm wondering if it could be made using a regular yellow cake mix instead of the angel food mix... QuiltE what cake mix do you use with the cherry filling??

Honchey ... Angel Food Cake mix and any pie filling ... mix and bake just the same as your pineapple cake. Cherry pie filling gives you a pretty pink cake with the red cherries showing quite nicely when cut. If you want a Faux Black Forest Cake, mix 1/3 cup bakers cocoa with the cake mix, and then mix with the cherry pie filling. Another favourite of mine (more so in the autumn) is apple pie filling. I usually add extra spices ... all because I really like cinnamon and hte other warm spices.

I promised to take pictures of my garden. As I said, it's a tiny backyard, nothing special.

The yellow/green one in the back belonged to my mom. It's 15 years old now.

Looks very special to me; like its a prized area, well loved and cared for and gives enjoyment back that puts a smile on your face.

Woke up to snow today. Covers the grass. Need sunshine inside and out.

Anael ... oh but it IS special ... it's your sanctuary and I can see why you enjoy being out there. You've made it so that it's like an extra room to your home. Complete with forget-me-nots blooming ... and the others, perhaps grape hyacinth? And irises to come! Even an "Ode to Mom"!!

QNSue ... The good news is that you can declare a snEw Day and use that new machine!

    OKSGlad ... another snEw Day?

DublB ... such a contrast ... you'd better send some of that warmth northbound to melt things for QNSue and OKSGlad!

Thanks QuiltE and yes, grape hyacinth.

I still don't know the name of my Ode to my Mom When she passed away I found 3 cuttings in a pot in the kitchen so I took them with me and hoped for the best. 15 years later it's still alive and doing great!
