Hi all
The weather is nice for a change. According to the news this spring was the coldest in over 40 years
High winds but it's great outside so that's where I am

Tomorrow twins cuddle time. I don't have any news so that's good.

It's hot hot hot!!!
A week ago ... frost warnings (and there was frost!)
The last two days ... heat alerts ... storm/tornado warnings ... and should clear starting Sunday then back to regular seasonal programming!
No a/c in my home ... so the refuge is my basement, which means some sewing ... gosh darn!
(and less computer time, as my office is probably the hottest part of my home)

I made a quick stop this morning at the jobber's and brought home three types of batting ... anyone use Tender Touch battings? I bought cotton/poly and bamboo/cotton. Also got some Warm & Safe (from the Warm Co, but not on their website). The other night, I went to sandwich the 3 Out to Pastures ... and discovered, I did not have the right battings!! argghhhh ... so no excuse now!

Anael .. thanks for giving QNSue the link! Your Grandma quilt looks lovely ... so what's the next colour going to be? And the Attic Windows? How are the SewGrands doing? And the parents ... are they settling into their new routines with the babes? and sleeping better? And Mick? Hope all is good news ... and only good news comes with Isa's laser treatment (whenever!)

QNSue ... Thanks for missing me ... though it really was only a day! Seeing the updates of your flowers are always so welcome. It must be a real floral display, and those who travel along your highway must truly enjoy the spectacle. My clematis is budding up and should put on a grand show. Lilacs are almost over thanks to the rains this week. And the lilies are just starting to bloom ... have really got to like them the last few yrs and have added a few more each year. Hope you found your way to the FFC thread ... and that you've been able to find your FFC FQ in all your moving around!

DDamsel ... thank goodness you are OK! Guess you need to be sick more often, so you can have more machine time .... and we do need to see a pic of your DDs quilt! Hooray for the joint effort!!!

Honchey and DDamsel ... Starlight, Star bright ... fantastic!!! Scrappy enough for you DDamsel?

JanRN ... hip hip hooray!!!!

CarrieM ... looks like your DD is getting the quilting bug from you! Will be a productive summer for everyone! Care to share the Brownies with PB icing recipe? I'm sure we all (except OKSGlad)need that one!!!

Honchey ... I chuckled about your short "do". I'm guessing your DSis decided to trim you right down, being that you'll be so busy this next couple of months and won't be able to get to her for a re-do? I bet all will go well with your DGS for the sleepover ... he's comfortable being with you already and will be thrilled to stay.

OKSGlad ... add to your sleep aid arsenal, gravol ... the most overused drug in nursing homes and hospitals. No scripts needed, and sadly, sometimes they "dope" the patients with it, for their own benefit, and not for the patient's! I chuckled at your not being a PB fan ... I never cared for the stuff, til a few years ago, now it is totally a red light food. Not sure why the change?

GGal ... So sorry about your DGS's IED experience and the aftermath. I'm sure it's a big worry for all of you. Thanks for watching for the cow pattern, and when you get a chance to scan and send, I appreciate it.

Yes, GardenGal, it may be a mistake I am making letting dh move 'some' sewing back into the sew room which he is taking advantage of to be sure to push my buttons...and letting me know I need to help him sort things out that he does not need...for sewing and his clothing to wear that are in his closets and drawers. He comes charging into my room or where ever I am to tell me how bad he feels, what I did wrong or to blame me for something one more time, so placement of self does not keep him away and still creates 'stress'. But we have been married for 47 years, and have had good times and bad times together...raising a family and retiring. Now we have lots of time together! At least, he is not running around on me or drinking in the tavern! Wish he had a few interests or friends to pursue, but sadly, he does not...other than his computer and TV and outside work & gardening.

If he wants to 'get' along we do; if he doesn't, Heaven help me. (to keep my mouth shut!) I did spend $$$$ getting the setup I wanted in the sewing room and he deserves some time to sew on it too...and if I wanna use his tools in the garage in his workshop...I just might!! (Or not!)

By using Kosker salt and coarse ground pepper, my blood pressure has dropped back into normal range.

I skipped the clematis blooming show and let Irises have center stage today: and more tires with bloomin' Irises: and the roses are beginning:Night Owl Rose.

And more roses are coming on in front of the house. The rain all but destroyed the peonies.....taking them down on the ground.

Beautiful Beautiful Flowers ... QNSue and Honchey!

I envy all of you with peonies. I grew up with beds of the ruby ones like QNSue's, and one each of pink and white. When we sold my parents home, I was supposed to get a clump from the new owner, but it never happened.

Honchey and OKSGlad ... Oh my goodness! Such a nice GFG for Honchey's old fashioned quilt! Perfect!

Honchey ... guess what? I've now started a Red, Black and White GFG! Silly me!

DDamsel ... what a sweetie you have and oh so proud! Yes, better get a machine to keep that interest sparked ... your stash will never be "yours" again!
