Love your quilt, Carrie. Great job. That pattern really shows off the beautiful fabrics.

DDamsel .... So Great to SEE you were here! Only wish that I had been, when you were! Careful you don;t blow away on us! And where is the photo of the finished old quilt top?

Anael ... 98 closer than the rest of us! Good for you for starting on the DJ journey ... that's about 1/3 way done already. Would love to see a group shot of your 98!

CarrieM ... another finish, and even in your colours! No surprise, right? Great job!

No sewing here again ... for how long?

    Carrie....beautiful quilt. Such rich colors.
QuiltE....nice to dip your toe into the past by helping your friend with farm "chores".
Anael...your Sylvia blocks are beautiful. I started that but they became orphans when I did the FWS although I've not put them in the box that will never be opened. Dear Jane has intrigued me but not enough to get the pattern even. You must really love it to be making the second one.
DD...good to hear from you. Keep that machine humming!
Mirabelle....I hope your son is a good patient and lets you into your sewing room.
QNS....sounds like you're getting foxy again...before all of the meds are gone. This is the best time to get a relapse....when you're feeling better but not totally well. Take care of yourself!
my shop hop yesterday was to shops farther west into IL than the one my LQS participates in. We opened the doors at the first store and 3/4s of the store was on sale. Really hard to be sensible and save for the next stores when the selection was so good and the price was right! The next store was disappointing but I did get some machine needles and spray baste. Shop #3 had a wonderful selection of fabrics and so many pattern books it was virtually impossible to look through them all. They were holding a Judy Niemeyer class on the mariners compass...36 hours in three days and they would have the entire top done. I looked at their sample and the very center star had a similar bump as those I have done which was encouraging. I guess it never is completely flat just because so much fabric meets there. The last shop was to say the least very unusual. The lady could be officially called a hoarder! I've never seen so much if anything. A couple of the aisles were stacked high with FQ's and two people couldn't pass in them...back up required. The shelves were 3 bolt lengths high and then more was stacked on top to within 6-12 inches of the ceiling. But if you asked her for a specific line or print, she knew immediately if she had it and where it was. It is not necessarily a shop to browse in but with a specific pattern and need, probably the place to find it. For you KT people, she probably has ever fabric that line has ever had. Her shop is The Treadle in Bloomington, IL. Today I get to pet my new fabric and find a place to put them. Things to finish before I cut anything else up.....have a good day all!

Pictures, GG, please...of that new fabric you are petting!! Sounds like a great trip...guess every location has a "hoader" quilt store. (Not the hoader where I thought I would find it!) Although I finally found my Troy fishing fabric in the Ben Franklin store which surprise me so much I guaranteed myself not to have to be looking for it again!! LOL!!

Now to try to 'organize' the quilting room so the new machines and tables will fit...which means less boxes on the floor in there...oh dear, I just might have to use some of the guest room floor behind the headboard!! And when the quilters come, they will never want to leave...will be caught in the act of petting fabric in there!!

That was my thought exactly QNS, pictures please GG

I just did some petting too I had a friend over here who wants me to make her a quilt. She wants batiks which is ok with me as I love batiks. I pulled a few out and she loved them. One she couldn't have as I need it myself. So we went online and ordered some fabrics. I love it when I can do that
I think I finally found the right colour for the sashing of my Sylvia # 1!

Anael, plan to meet me in the virtual RV and go on a mission to 'raid' a few stashes of PC riders who go on these FART then do not take pictures to share with us so we can virtual 'pat' their new fabric!!LOL!

And what can we do about these people who receive their MBs and have excuses not to show the rest of us?? Like maybe the sender could post after so many days of the receiver (who acknowledges the receipt of them) not showing us the MB block????

Thanks for the nice comments on my quilt...yes that is my youngest DD peeking around, oldest DD was the other "holder". Most of the fabric for my first quilts were either my favorite colors or what my DH calls "Carrie fabric" (meaning small floral prints, like Thimbleberries and Kansas Troubless). I used to make most of my own skirts and those were the types of fabrics I used.

Karen--hope DS is doing well today. Did you have to go pick him up or did DH do that?

Ggal--it sure sounds like you found lots of good stuff. You almost described the quilt shop where I work..."shelves were 3 bolt lengths high and then more was stacked on top to within 6-12 inches of the ceiling". The shop is in an old house and she has filled each room, including the bathtub which is her sale fabric. We have several customers who come in and say "If I can't find it at Connie's I don't need it that bad".

Anael--be sure to show us progress pictures of your friend's quilt.

QNS--not a bad idea on the MB pictures.
