Thanks Honchey, OKSGlad and MiraB!! ... yes, same fabric, batting and thread. The only difference would be the size of the practice pieces vs. the real thing! Thread is Aurifil 50 and the quilting is the border area, so not a lot of seam work that I have to cross over. Needle being used is Embroidery 14 which has been working for me in other FMQ. I did change the needle and re-threaded top and bottom, but don't really think that is the problem, as when I go back to the practice pieces, all seems to be A-OK.

    Any other thoughts?
Like a big mystery! Maybe overnight the Quilting Fairy will wave her magic wand and all will be grand!

OKSGlad ... DDIL? .... did I miss something?? Oh Oh ... perhaps we will lose you to the books?

DDamsel ... Oh how nice! After our earlier discussion today, about print size, you have proven how larger prints can work quite effectively in smaller pieces!

JeanieG ... Yeeeeehawwwwwww!!! Another PC soon to trot across the finish line!

MiraB ... padding the #'s, are you?

QE, I have the same problem and figured it out. It is the size difference between the practice piece (which was table runner size) and the actual quilt (quilt size). I had to put another support beside me to support the additional weight of the actual quilt. It was pulling too much until I added the support. I use my ironing board lowered to the right height and cover it with a trash bag so it's slippy and the quilt moves smoothly. I hope this makes sense--it was an "aha moment" and works for me.

DD, that's a lovely block for Bev. Did you ever receive the MB I mailed on June 20? If not, please let me know so I can make you another one. I'd feel bad if you were short a block when it's time to put the MB quilt together.

Good Thought and Thanks, JanRN... when I was in bed last night I got thinking about much the same. Because it is the borders I am doing, the quilt was fully on the table, but maybe there was still too much drag on it. So I'll slick all up good with silicone spray before I go at it today.

    Only time will tell!
And besides, I absolutely HAVE TO and MUST sew today ... miserably hot and humid for a 40C humidex. UGH!

That is a really interesting, gorgeous block you made for Bev, DD. I really like the colours.

I have missed so much that it will be impossible to address everyone.

I did see that you are sweltering, QuiltE. I'll take some of your heat as it is raining and a high of 14 today. It is still a good reason to be inside sewing.

My soon to be 9 year old grandson wants to come over this afternoon for a sleep over so I will have to get some pork adobo going for dinner as that is his favourite food these days.

I will have to be the cheerleader on the next group project as I just can't take on another biggie. It will be fun to watch what you all create with the different fabric choices.

    I mailed my July MB!!

    Hi to everybody!
