A killer kitty, a beautiful quilt and some LARGE hail! Lots of interesting chatter today.

I am resting after an afternoon of baking bars. I opted to do a Texas Sheet Cake, Lemon Cake Bars and Chocolate Chip Bars. Unfortunately the pan I used for the Lemon bars was not deep enough and ran over my pan. I really wanted to do the recipe shared here, but didn't know if they would want to deal with the powdered sugar. I had frosting to add so think they will be ok once cut up...at least I hope so. They are chilling now so I will cut later to make sure the look ok. If not I will be baking something else later tonight. The kids of course won't mind as it is killing them to have all these sweets in the house and nothing they can eat.

Does anyone get the Fons and Porter Love of Quilting Magazine? There is a pattern in the May/June 2013 called Emily's Wedding Quilt that I like...I see I can buy just the pattern digitally, but thought I would check to see if anyone is done with their issue first...or maybe we can work out a trade for just the pattern.

Lots of great chatter everyone. Wonderful photos and recipes too! Wow, we are a diverse group! That hail is scary. It could probably hurt someone very badly.

Dear DIL is in labor, so will have a new granddaughter any time now. They are naming her Hannah Jean! That makes 15 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, ranging in age from 24 to newborn. Geez, I'm feeling old!

Oh what joy--Jeanie! They are each precious in their own special way.

Ouch to the hailstones! It's such a destructive force of nature--glad the greenhouses withstood it, Janie.

A boxy (instead of squishy) arrived today. Grands will be excited when they see it! Thanks QNS. Lovely stack and whack.

Thunder looms again. Had a heavy rain just before I got home from Shop Hop trip with friends. Nice day of relaxing and catching up. Now must catch up here at home.

I got the call yesterday evenin' & we went & took position o' the house at about 5:00pm. When we got home I wanted ta git right online & tell ya but when we got home they had prematurely turned off my Cable, Internet, & Land Line! It took DH callin' 3 or 4 times ta fit it fixed for th'sevenin'. Sigh! He needs ta go online ta git some work done since he has been off. I'm just as glad as he was that we were able ta git on tanight.
Wow so much went on while I was unable ta git on. We did do alotta packin' again taday.

Congrats Jeanie (new GD) and Bev (new house)!!

We just got back from a family swim in the river (well DH and the kids swam, I just watched). They needed cooling off.

CarrieM ... I'm confused re your icing sugar comment. In my recipe the icing sugar gets mixed into the crust mixture. Or was it something else? I bet everyone is hoping you decide that one set of bars needs to be re-made, so that they can eat them all up!

JeanieG ... How exciting knowing another Little Jeanie is on her way!!

DublB ... Time to celebrate that final step of double home ownership!

    OKSGlad ... Just like Christmas!!!!!!!!

    Good Night, All!

QE--I copied the recipe but guess I didn't read all the way through the directions!! Oops....after I read the follow-up on what icing sugar was I was thinking it was sprinkled on top (a lot of times the lemon bars I've had had this on top). DH said to just use the lemon bars I made so the kids didn't get any. I am thinking we will bake something tomorrow though...

Bev--bummer on the movers canceling at the last minute! Not good business when you are all set to go. Be careful on those backs!!
