Anael--in the last couple years (since I started quilting regularly) I have way too many started quilts or fabric for quilts. That is why last June (2012) I decided I wanted to finish one UFO a month. There have only been a couple months that I haven't gotten at least one done. Then in January I had to decide to only buy fabric for finishing quilts. I bought for a couple gifts but have been doing pretty good on this this year too.

Other than the SYE BOTM I am not starting anything new until January. 50 Stars---have fabric that I bought for a different quilt but want to use on these blocks instead and Dear Jane--if I can decide on fabrics by then. I am still going to try to finish a quilt a month and not start many...we'll see how that goes.

Now if only I could go back to sewing 4-5hrs a day. Oh well I am sticking to an hour and my shoulder thanks me. PT says it is looking better and has me cutting appts back (after next week) to just seeing her every 2 weeks.

Mirabelle--sounds like you have about everything! Hope you get lots done on your UFOs.

Ggal--how's the toe? You've been making great progress this week!

Off to sew a couple border sides on the airplane quilt before waking up the kids for school...

Don't you hate it when the pattern measurements are wrong? I ended up 1 inch short with 1 block which should have been 18.5. So I did the math myself.......wrong
I guess it's time to run some errands. Finished installment # 10, still 2 to go.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with lots of UFO's. I just went upstairs and on the stairs is a pile of fabric, black/white. Reminded me of another UFO.......LOL

Oh we have the same bug going around. Seems like Carrie has been the one with the best treatment!!! Way to go with the UFO finishes.

After finishing my SYE block #1 and another PP block I think I am going to pass on the SYE blocks. I'm looking at my huge pile of UFO's and WIP's and have decided not to add to the list. I really don't like to PP that well and would much rather work on my itty bitties. (OBTW made 100 9P measuring 1.5" finished over the weekend.) The blocks are beautiful but time consuming. Looks like there will be lots of corn to chop this fall--well you know the farm wife drill...

mirabelle thank goodness for your measurements--it made the SYE block sooo much better. Enjoy your retreat. Oh such a sweet quilt to a sweet little girl. dublb is packing too! Have a great time.

Apples are starting to get ready here--a late variety--so soon the smell of cooked apples and cinnamon will be filling the air! Sounds good with the pumpkin aromas. Thanks for the recipe QNS.

Jeanie all the unpacking will be so worth working in a new kitchen! I'm sure you can't wait!

It's cleaning day today--yuk--better get to it.

Anael--that is too bad about the bad pattern. How frustrating!! You are moving right along on your blocks. LOL on "cleaning day?"

OK--I really liked your SYE block...was looking forward to seeing some more, but completely understand your reason for not continuing. At least since you were planning on table runners anyways, if you see another block you really like you can just make that one. Can't wait to see what you do with all those 9P minis!

School is done, lunch and then back to the clubhouse...

Thanks Carrie--I'm going to try and get some of those UFO's finally finished. Those little 9P are all made from 1" strips and squares that are trims from something else. And like all scrappy projects it isn't making a dent in the 1" bin!

What's cleaning you ask? It's sweeping all the bits and pieces off the floor that nine people track in on their shoes for starters; finding the top of the kitchen counters--some people like to use horizontal surfaces to their fullest potential. TG for dishwashers. Oh found 2 sippy cups under the sofa and loveseat. Haven't touched the dining room table--another horizontal surface with a week's worth of papers on it. Business mail gets pulled out immediately and deposited in my office.

My day is coming to straighten up the great room since dh cousin is coming here on Sunday to play cards; he and his wife and his sister. My quilting room mess is still in the great room... front room... Menu is kept simple with northern beans and ham. Cornbread, too.

If nine persons stopped at the door, Ok and took their shoes off, less dirt would get tracked in. I never could train my family crew to do that. SYE is creating more scraps, small scraps, may have to make them into 1 1/2 inch square pieces. and then donate them to you...

Lost count on UFOs. Aiming for what needs to be be...MBs, SYE, and PC and BBs and then what is fun first...and work toward those 'put away' out of sight. . . that may not see the light a day in the next 15 years...let someone else finish them.

Twenty pounds heavier than when we moved here; I am enjoying this heartland fresh foods too well. Love the fresh meat pork, beef, and chicken. Rather have fresh veggies than sweets. Lung has improved, back for another x-ray...also x-raying knee to see what is going on there.
