QuiltE I like your Egg Muffin recipe, might have to try that for when I am "home alone" and don't feel like cooking (which is all the time) cause there is too much quilting to do

Yes, Canadian Bacon is cured meat, very special; little pricey, not too bad. Its often served on pizza here or in casseroles like for breakfast. Do tell them, QuiltE, what it is.

Yes, all egg-actly recipes are welcome. Wish you all were closer and we would share. When my Father lived in Las Alamos, NM, he welcomed his MIL bringing him a suitcase of Iowa eggs...fresh...when she came by bus to visit. He would sit down and eat them by the dozen...Old memories of an era gone by. Even took my feed store man 14 dozen, just to reduce the number I had on hand...after all its his fault for selling me the feed!!

Dublb, what special pictures and memories!!! Neat quilt too...a treasure for ever.

Bev, what precious pics of you and DGD--I love the one with your hands guiding hers.

QE, you and QNS have made me hungry for eggs & bacon! I'm off to work and just had my usual breakfast of tea & oreos (nurses really eat healthy!!).

Have BB blocks ready to mail out Monday. I made so many (my insecurities LOL)that I'll have to make another quilt (or put them in The Box). Also got the third border on PC. It's been too cold to go out so I've hibernated in my sewing room. Damn--work gets in the way; I could have finished my last boder today.

    Have a good day, ladies.

QNS growing up we lived at the top of a hill and down in the valley was what we called the Bacon Factory, it was really KR Darling Downs Bacon Factory and when they were cooking we could smell it. My grandfather had a friend who was a pig farmer and we used to use his shareholder number and buy direct from the factory. I still love KR hams and bacon.
We also had a lot of chickens and ducks and eggs were always plentiful, we supplied the whole street with fresh eggs. Food always seems to evoke wonderful memories from my childhood, my grandmother was a fantastic cook and she was always baking sweet treats.

ha! Of course, you can use Ausse Bacon or Nederlands!!

Perhaps you know our Canadian Bacon as ........ Back Bacon or Pea Meal Bacon???

Traditional Bacon is from the side ... and less meaty, more fat.
Whereas the Back Bacon has very little fat .... so pretty much all meat!
It's cured in the same way as the Side Bacon.

I seldom buy side bacon .... and both can be used in the same way.
If you haven't had it, go out in search of, and join me for Breakfast for Dinner sometime!

Totally my choice, instead of eating grease!!!!!

MiraB ... yup, that's often when I use those frozen muffys. Or even with my afternoon tea. The protein is a good pick me up ........ and certainly healthier than some of the other grab 'n go things I'd munch on!!!

QuiltE....it's so nice to have you back from your wanderings. You bring such a wonderful "flavor" to the group! Between you and QNSue, we would all be waddling if the RV was for real. Such good sounding stuff.
dubib...she will never forget those moments of learning to sew with DGM and that quilt will go with her wherever she goes. Such patience you have.
mirabelle...thanks for the glimpse into your growing up years. You have a bit of country in you too. I have all of the compass blocks saved thanks to you.
Jan...good progress for you on the PC quilt and BBs. Mine are sitting right by my sewing machine calling to be finished but right now I'm finishing up the blocks for the mystery quilt I'm working on. I love how it's turning out and will post pictures later.
I did stop at my LQS yesterday to get some machine needles. I've been using up some of what I got before I knew better that topstitch gives me the best results. I had just put in a metallic needle which I know has a similar shaped shaft and eye but doesn't give the same results. They have gotten in so many new fabrics...I just wandered around and soaked in the beauty, enjoyed the friends I found there, and managed to escape with only a few more FQs to add variety in my blue and white Ocean Waves quilt.
carrie...do you get Theads of Times newsletter? They have both Janome models you are looking at for a very good price. They could ship it to you too.
