Here is a photo of the sweatshirt. My daughter found it in a mall around 15 or 16 years ago. My grandkids love it, so that is why I wore it on Sunday - five of them were here for dinner. Of course I have had seven more grandchildren since this was made! LOL (Joe and I have six kids between us.) Talk about an old sweatshirt - my clothes seem to last a long time, and I cannot just get rid of them until they wear out!

Looks like she may flavor you in looks, too. Luck child!
You KNOW I am the same age as you QNS! I can get down, but have a harder time getting up - usually use something to hold on to. I thank the Lord for my health and mobility! The blocks I was playing with Aubree, have been kept in the blue bucket they came in when my first grandchild, Keara, was born almost 24 years ago. All the grands have loved them, and now Aubree loves to bang those big leggo blocks together.

Yep, I know JeanieG, but those DGC have been keeping you years younger looking! Or maybe its the California sun.

So my Dear Jane packet from Quilting on the Square came yesterday. Anael ask for a picture and I took one on displayed it on site, but not all of us go there, so thought I would display it here as well. Reproduction of the thirties is the first packet, the second is more modern batiks kit.Cream is with reproduction.
Dark blue large piece with all the colors. Its A-1 to A-10 blocks which I am still in deep mud in trying to understand it. One step at a time.

Jeanie, thanks so much for "sharing" another grand with us--what a cutie!!

QNS, those are beautiful fabrics. I'm partial to the batiks and think they'll make an awesome DJ. I'm using scraps for mine, same fabrics as FWS & PC quilts. I'm not real into DJ yet; I have 8 blocks made. I'm skipping the applique and most of the y-seams. Maybe I'll just make a DJ table runner or as QE suggested snarkily LOL a lot of coasters!

Thanks for all the suggestions about getting wax of my iron. I used a paper bag and got all of it off. Glad you reminded me not to use salt on the Teflon bottom. I tried ironing the fabric thru the paper bag but it didn't pick up any more wax. I'll just put that on the bottom of the "brown pile" and not use it except maybe for a tote bag.

Ohhh, I really like those batiks! They will make beautiful blocks! Are you making two quilts, one with the 30's fabrics and one with batiks?

That's the plan for the next two years...will see what happens...I have a large tote to put them into each month. No clear vision yet of the 'doing it' part, wish I could attend a local class on it and be shown visually how to, but if I push myself forward leaving three tracks in the snow, it might get done. ( Two feet and rear dragging along!)

NinaSue I love your story of leaving tracks in the snow, so funny. What beautiful fabric for your DJ and how different both quilts will be.
Two other QB members who shall remain nameless have been gently guiding me towards participating in DJ. I am beginning to weaken, even thinking about fabric. will keep you all updated. (I am such a sucker)
