I've been asked to fill in for a gal that's having a "Sister" get together. I will be working for a whole week! I'm bringing several projects with me to "work" on while I work. What better place could I be in. ...A gallery full of Viking machines to play with...and I will play. I'm going to sandwich a few tops...There are nice big tables to work on. I usually don't like this part of quilting but having alot of room helps. Have any of you machine quilted in the ditch with a blanket stitch ? I'm going to try that tomorrow. See how it looks. Now that almost sounds like a "dream job" ... take your projects and get paid to do them!! I'll be looking forward to reading/seeing what you work on!!!

Trips down memory lane are good for the soul, so please enjoy as I post. Of course, they won't be coming quite so often now. Maybe I should have rationed them? and not let you have all of them at once?

Honchey ... Your post of your Pony Club fabric that was in your stash corral, got me thinking to one I purchased on a whim this summer. Great $ale at the time, cute fabric and no clue what I was going to do with it ... just that I liked it.

Must have been mental telepathy that I just might need it! :)

Look what I found pasturing in my stash!! What do all you Cowgirls think of this one as a "base" fabric to build my other fabrics around, when doing the Pony Club?

Yes Anne, I made a cover for my e-reader with Jelly Roll Strips, I quilted it with a decorative Stitch. I've attached a photo. I know it is a small piece, but will give you the idea!

Ohh QuiltE - You could base all your blocks around the colors in that fabric. I just love it!

We get her on RFD TV, thru' DirecTV. This cross stitch quilt is the last of 6 in a series called Country Fair and the Cross Stitch book (and maybe a CD included ... I can't remember) is available at her site for about $19.00 (a slight markdown sale price), but I've just spent quite a bit of money on some other quilting stuff. I ration my quilt-y spending, so hope to get the book at a later time.
If you go to her website...Quiltinaday.com all of her shows are there.....FREE!!!!! I watched the DWR one & was very impressed. I've been waiting for it to rotate to TV but it hasn't so far.

My FWQ is still in it's lap hoop...maybe 4 blocks quilted. I just got busy with other projects. With the cooler weather I'll get back to it sooner or later.

Beachbound, I'm with you. I have a queen size that I've been doing on a lap frame. I had to give it up over the summer--just too hot. I even tried putting a small fan under the quilt to blow on my legs! Nothing worked.

I'm just thrilled that it's cooled off and I've been able to quilt for about 3 weeks. That's why I'm excited about doing the FWS. I am going to put a number of blocks together (not sure yet, but maybe 4x4) with sashing and then quilt them as one block. With it that small, it won't be all over my legs. And it sure will be easier to turn!

Might be a challenge, when I want to work with my stash, though I'll probably surprise myself just how many I have to go with it. It's a total different direction than I thought I'd go.

QuiltE I am so impressed with all your blocks--they're beautiful. What fun to see them all again (and realize I'm not the one struggling with all those little points LOL). Your colors are so nice-I really like all the blue you've been using but still keeping it scrappy.
I think the fabric you posted would make a good starting point-lots of color choices in there.

On another note, and I'm sure if I used Search someone else has mentioned this. I just got the greatest ruler for half square triangles: Wonder Cut ruler. OMG-they turn out perfect even if you want them to finish at 1". Where was this marvelous invention when I was doing FWS??? If you get a chance, Google this ruler; I found it cheapest on Connecting Threads website. I am a gadget queen--I have so many that I never use. This one will get a lot of use. Just a suggestion after looking at a lot of those Pony Club blocks.

JanRN ... Thanks for your kind words, and thoughts on my potential PC fabric. Also, the new ruler ... I too have a good collection of "things" and always looking for more!

Finished my Hospice Passage Quilt tonight ... yes, finally finished thru to the final pressing. Off to the LAQ tmro with it! Now I can work onf my FWS ... and a plethora of other UFOs!

After that ... time for one block #3, which was my first applique. I'm NOT in love with that and will tolerate where need be, I guess! It's done and will picture in the morning as I already had #4 done. That means 1-14 are all done and after that sporadic #'s.
