This week's blocks are pretty straight forward. The tri goes together very quickly with just the top section being appliqued. The blocks are pretty quick as well. The only issue that I have (and I have it on all of these) was on D8...I struggle with getting the placement of the melons and elongated diamonds in exactly the right spots..you can see that I didn't get them quite right, but they are done...so...

Patti, Your blocks look great!! :)

For applique placement, I press the block in half, then again, then again...so I have the pressed lines as a guide, then I press them away after the block is done.

I know Wil...you can see where I pressed the block to do that too..but as you can tell with one in particular...blasted thing didn't end up where it belonged! Or....the movie could have been getting really really good when I got to that one..

You beat me to it this week Patti - and I was going to say the same thing with creasing the background. Guess it was a really good film.

Lesley..I love yours as always..I like how different your M1 and my M1 look due to you being smart enough to change that little center block. Wish I'd thought of that! Great job!!

I was a bit puzzled about your comment about M1, I thought I was just following the software, and putting my fabrics according to the shaded parts or the plain parts. They will all look good in the quilt, rest assured.

Well...maybe it was just me Lesley..I didn't look back at the block, but you know I could have easily missed a shaded area and probably did  Didn't mean to cause confusion. :D

I did mine the same as you Pat, so I was poking around to see why and I noticed that if you used the wizard and the "Classic Dear Jane" layout, that block is done as we did with the three middle squares all the same color (background). But if you look at the real DJ quilt, it's actually done as Lacey has it with the very middle square not the background color. Guess I'll have to make sure to peak at the real blocks before sewing. Though I don't mind a few differences anyway ....
