    I don't think it's cheating at all - I like the word 'expedient'.

    Since we can't always see what Jane did, we can do it our way, right? BTW, nothing wrong with that triangle, Patti, that I can see.

    Great blocks Patti! Love how they came out. You guys are gonna roll on the floor laughing when you see one of mine - can't remember the block number, but it's the one with the criss cross of melons. OMG, it's so bad it's funny! Anyway, I'll be posting when I finish my triangle, hopefully early this week. Two weeks to go until "catch up" week!! Woo hoo!!

    At first, for a second or two, I had a feeling of not doing things "right" or like Jane did, but I got over that after a couple blocks. I think all is fair (as in love and war) with this quilt. Whatever method/technique works for you, that is the right way for your blocks. Some of the most cleaver techniques have been borne from trying to simplify difficult seams.
