I've spent the last few days picking out blocks from 2 books. 3 1/2" and 4" blocks. I've even mapped out a grid for laying out finished blocks. Foundation pieceing will make it easier to complete one block per 2 days(sandwiched and quilted). If I sash one row a month. 13 Months,

Woohoo dee....you GO GIRL! So, have you picked out enough blocks yet? Your plan sounds doable...you'll have to be dilegent about keeping up with your schedule...but its doable...

Deelost you are planning well. I am so looking forward to seeing your idea when you get your blocks done.

I pp mine apart form the applique one so I sat lastnight and took the paper off the back of my blocks its a rotten job when you have loads of them, should have done it as I went along, I never learn.

Well darn it Elle...I thought you were tearing the paper off as we went along. I started doing that about halfway through. It is a big job! So..are you making a happy pile of those tiny pieces of paper on the floor now?

Well I stopped midway Patti and did take the papers all off, but then I got lazy and just didnīt bother again. However they are all done now.

Hey just been checking my rows of DJ and I was some missing so went back to check and they were the one I needed to do over for one reason or another, one I hated the material I had used. So I am not done after all got 12 to do again boo hoo

Oh no.....I have only 5 more to quilt, then I am done with the center. I haven't started working on the quilting on the tris yet..but will soon. I had some blocks that I was thinking about doing over, then decided that I'd quilt them to see what I thought. I think at this point I will leave them in and let them show how much I've learned during the "birth" of the quilt. You don't have too many to do though, you'll be done before you know it!

Wow you sure are moving on the quilting Patti. Is it coming easy to you.

Just picked out all my materials for the last 12 to do, actually looking at them now they donīt look half as bad. there is still one that is going to test me though.

I've picked out 221 blocks but I'm tweaking them to fit the trip around the world theme. I think there's only one DJ in me! the outermost triip is flowers and flowers w/stems, followed by stars, tiles, triangles, squares, odds and the centers are crosses

I cheated! I used soft and sheer stabilizer. Don't have to rip paper( my mentor taught me this trick) It takes longer in the beginning but no ripping ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!( pattern is traced onto stabilizer. But I'm embroidering block name on back (album blocks) because this is going to be my design wall quilt reference guide!
