Everyone has done such a great job with their blocks. They are all wonderful. :D
Melissa, you said that the batiks stretched. I've been working with a fabric that stretches too, especially when I don't want it to. To stop it from stretching so much, I've pinned a small a strip of paper between the two fabrics when I sew the seams. The fabric does not stretch so much and the paper can be easily torn away afterwards.

I'm still shaking my head of the batik fabric stretching. I've never heard of that before. In fact, I hear the opposite, that batiks are the least fabric of any to stretch. Not to wish anyone bad luck or anything but I'm glad you found this out and said something because I'm making my BOM blocks with batiks and now I know to look out for this problem. For me it will be starch to the rescue! (doesn't that sound like some corny tv show? Dun Du-DUN! - I can even hear theme music in my head. LOL.)

Connie, I really love your block. It has such beautiful colors and is obviously made so accurately. I can picture a new baby's face peeking out from that pretty pink. I am trying to get up my courage to start quilting again. Your block has inspired me. And I REALLY love the quilt that you have by your name. Are the light blue bands around the shapes pieced in or sewed on as applique? I wonder if you were inspired by a tile pattern or a mosaic. Thanks for showing us your work. Anne

Shelly,
I love your colors. They are very springlike. You're starting out with the BOMs in a great way. If these are the colors you are planning to use for a whole quilt, it will be stunning. :D
