Journeys with Dear Jane: Baby Janes in the making and complete
#191
So, I am back, with some progress. I am hand quilting each block as I go along, and also, adding the sashing and cornerstones, so I progress very slowly. When I dropped away 2 years ago, I had several blocks made, but not quilted. Well, I found out this past week, that you can do a lot of hand quilting, while waiting in a hospital for spouse's medical procedures to happen. He is doing fine and just needs time for recovery now. So, here is what I got done. I quilted the last 6 blocks of row 4, got the sashing and cornerstones attached and then got that whole row attached to the first 3 rows. I did the pictures in 2 sets, to get closer pics.
This pic shows the left half of the first 4 rows.
This picture shows the right half of the first 4 rows
And this last picture shows the first 6 blocks of row 5
So, back to the sewing machine for me. I probably won't post for 2 weeks again, which gives me a little more time to show some progress. I plan on finishing row 5 and then devoting time to the triangles across the top, just to see some progress there. Enjoy and keep on trucking, oops, I mean sewing.

I have an idea!
I just be a long time testing something and need to see if someone wants to test to see if it works!
All know that I use a translator and my programs are in Spanish, so if someone can prove it, we could make the necessary modifications so that they act as in English.
I did an outline in white and with an Excel I insert photos of the blocks.
In a separate post, I'll put the image and instructions.
I hope your comments! Hugs for all!

Instructions for Assembly of a scheme with pictures (English):
-Save the attached image in your PC with a name (I'll use scheme for instructions) and type JPG
-Open the Excel
-Select: file"new"
-Select "White book" and press "Create"
-Go to the "Insert" tab.
-Select "Image". Opens a drop-down where you can see various images including "Schema".
-Choose "Outline" by positioning the mouse over the image and press the button "Insert"
-When you are on the page, go to the "File" tab and select "Save as", give a name (I'll use "DJ scheme" for instructions) and as type select "Template of Excel macro-enabled"
-Close the file for security that is created and saved.
-Now is the detail of the inclusion of your photos.
-Prior to start, advise them to take an accurate picture of each block (or cut them up to leave only the exact form of the block, this can be done in Picasa). Once they are well trimmed, they should compress them since they must take into account that they will be 252. I use "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" and reduce them to "Documents". With the thumbnail armen a special folder so have all together.
-Now in Excel, pressing "File" and choose "DJ scheme". The file opens and you will see the diagram in white.
-Go to the "Insert" tab, select "Picture", opens a pop-up where you can choose the first photo of some your blocks and press "Insert"
-You will see the large photo! Don't panic, if you press on one of the points (round) will see that it changes to an arrow and that shows them that they can scale down the image. Pressed on that point and shrink block until it fits in place. Press the button of saved.
-Ready! It is the first photo in the scheme!
-To print must first configure page to engage in 1. They go to "Page design". Press on "Margins". Opens a drop-down.
-In page select A4
-Select in margins: top and bottom, right and left 0.0 and 1.9. Press "Preview" and see the full scheme on 1 page.
I hope this makes some sense and heart that the translator works and that you understand!
So all can have its schema with your photos!
A big hug for everyone!

Well, I am back with some progress blocks. I am just setting aside about an hour a day, to do the quilting. Can't sit much longer than that, doing that intense work. So, here are blocks E 7-8-9-&-10, also TR #4. I have enjoyed getting back into doing these squares, but have forgotten some of the ways that they need to be put together. Thanks for all the help here and from "That Quilt" website. I hope to have the last 3 blocks for that row done by next week.

Carsey~~your blocks look great, just hang in there, they get easier with more experience.
Dakota Maid~~thanks for the comment about the triangle block. I finally got the tri ruler and hopefully it will help me get the blocks better squared in place.
I just keep plugging along.
